It isn't about if he cares or not, it's to show we want to motivate and not just immediately pirate. We're pirates, not monsters.

Popularity in itself used to be enough to motivate. Though if you want to motivate them to do anything it should be to partner with Night Mirror and drop this buggy sandbox version altogether. That would be best for the game itself and the fans of the game.

Was this ever confirmed by Ferdafs? I know he had surgery, but I thought it was just speculated that its the reason why the updates slowed down.

I don't think he cares if we post it here, the reason why updates are so slow is because he had major surgery on his hand and I don't think he recovered well. Also there's a literal port of this game by another developer that gets posted here alongside the updates so...
