That's... odd. My guess is a save file issue. I'd say try loading another save? If that still doesn't work, new game + do over to restore the game state.

just finished playing the update - it was awesome! and was way better than i expected (and i already expected it to be good) - i rly hope u get to phase 2 man i rly do

Yes, the whole ending is written and we have a general idea of how many parts are needed to tell the story. For spoiler reasons, we aren't saying what that number is.

NightMirror, Aaronminus ... that was a magnificent update. I was dreading Space Beth's response and Morty's ... condition. I'm especially happy with Tricia coming full circle to a very satisfying conclusion. I eagerly await the next update with anticipation.

Whether insigated by Ferdafs or Night, the whole story for Tricia the entire game being "I like Morty but can't tell him/admit to it...Well maybe today" was absolutely great. The payoff after this whole build up was amazing. F Jessica, we worship Tricia here.
Night Mirror and Aaronminus well done on the update, it was excellent. As for the art I am going to say you are selling yourself short it was good. Looking forward to the next update, tho don't overwork yourselves

There’s a bit of hypnosis and body snatching. It’s hard to tag this game because it dabbles a little in a lot of things.

With that said , I wish I could Sue, cause I can't sleep on my stomach anymore after this update and both of my arms are wrapped up , So I called my lawyer and he laughed at me and said he was in the same state I really wish this didn't have to come to a end, but All Of The Best Ones go out on a high note ....... I appreciate your hard work and please .......... take your time " You Can't Rush Greatness "
