I wrote a long rambling post about this, but... well, finally went with something shorter.

I was trying to see if I could make the animation files smaller (there are 713 of them, totaling 655MB (or 6.5GB when uncompressed). The short version is nope, this method makes them bigger (both in size, and number of files). Oh, and it's laggy as fuck when changing animations. Oh, and it's slow as shirt to start. Also... it has some other minor quality issues...

I'd noticed that one too. It is kinda odd. It looks like she lowered her jeans and then Morty placed his legs between her legs and over her lowered jeans. There are a few images that defy logic, and it does annoy me a little, but I try to ignore it.

Well, actually, you see what is really happing in this scene is- holy shit the theater is on fire! Everyone out! Run! RUN! No time to answer questions! Everyone out!


I fix as much of the art as I can, animations are already sort of tricky to deal with, so, usually if there are errors in them, they get left in. This particular animation actually has a MUCH bigger issue, in that Beth suddenly jumps into the air (skipping a bunch of frames), so I had to cut it shorter to remove the issue from the original.

her: spreads legs as far as they can go
him: puts legs through hers so she can position correctly
her: lowers herself down

It is still not super great... but it doesn't make me want to gouge my eyes out with a melon baller, so... that's something? I'll most likely end up using both animations (I already did the footwork, so why not). They both need a bit more clean up in some spots where things don't quiet connect, but that is a problem for future me to forget about.

This was an interesting task to try and do, and it showed me a LOT of limitations in both my skill (or lack of) and the tool I'm using. As well as some weaknesses in Renpy itself for this sort of thing.

I'm not sure I'm too keen try this again any time soon (3-4 frame animations are where I think I'll stay), but who knows what the future will bring! I just hope there is a Ferdafs update in our future so I can put out all the stuff I've been working on.

From what I remember a few months back he said he had a long vindicator route he had been working on so that’s what I expect if the next update comes out, that and probably one or two routes.

I believe this is the last communication we have from Ferdafs about the game, back at the start of Feb. Again, promising and not delivering is sadly nothing new. However, if there is no post at all by the end of this month, that will be the longest he has gone without saying anything... so, hopefully we'll get something this month...

I know it's a few pages back, and a bit of a long post, but the answer is yes. If Ferdafs does abandon this game I will finish it.

As to only using art from the original, not true at all. I've made a number of new scenes, some with edited art, and some with art I've drawn. Although, kenta16807 is correct that the quality of my artwork isn't on par with Ferdafs
