I'll finish the vanilla mod update in the morning for Patreon. Patched version later.
Vanilla?!? I need me some chocolate. And then strawberry
Hey Lightman,

Some ideas/requests for the next update in a few months (I expect). The first two are the only ones that I really want and should be (relatively) easy to implement I believe. The others I don't know since I haven't looked at the code of the original files or your mod.

  • Increase the number of pages for saves
  • Allow naming of save files
  • On/Off Toggle for your walkthrough
  • On/Off Toggle for the Incest patch

I like incest content and since your mod is the only one maintaining it that is the primary reason I use it (along with gallery unlock and number choice which I especially love btw) but since in other posts you mention potentially creating different versions that's why I mention a toggle option. Depending on how it's implemented, a single mod with a toggle may be easier to maintain.

Since the story is still developing, I tend to make a lot of saves, especially at potential branch points. While renpy supports a lot of saves, its annoying that to go past page 9 you can only advance one page at a time. Naming them just makes it easier to remember why I save scummed each point. I know many a multimod have implemented increased number and named saves so it may simply be a case of code plagiarism to implement.

The walkthrough toggle is a meh suggestion either way for me since it's easy enough to just ignore your recommendations. I use MrBubu's flowchart style walkthrough because it includes all the decision variables and triggers that exist in the code base, even the ones that aren't of consequence (yet...) making it easier to save scum for potential branching choices. It also includes where the hidden renders are which is a nice bonus.
I'm not the dev, but I can answer some of your questions.
1 Keep pressing the next page button and you will end up here. (I did not fake this)

2 The dev gods heard your wish, and it has been granted. (Sidenote, this is always possible via the console: "save_name=XYZ" and then save your game. This you can also do via the console. The history there makes it quite easy to do after the first save)
3 Should not be hard to implement (assuming the walkthrough script is not a script overwrite we see often), but we'll know very soon if there was time for a feature like this.
4 Not likely to happen, as you have to jump between parallel scripts, without knowing where to jump to exactly. IMHO it doesn't really add to the game experience, but who knows and you'll be surprised. Not having it increases replayability. The devs are not incented to add this.
Easy fix tho: Play it twice ;), or run 2 game instances simultaneously.

36h "early access...?" Wow, five years playing Ripples and I do believe that's the first modder I can remember ever doing THAT on a Ripples mod. Just FYI, previous modders always had the mod up within a day or two, WITH the patch. Great way to avoid getting new patrons, man. Maybe I'll be able to play by sometime next week.

When people will start to understand that no one is obliged to do something for free. Making a mod is not a matter of a few seconds, but takes time that a person could spend on something else. No one forces you to pay, just wait 36 hours and you can play for free. Why complain, you can just follow your own advice and play something else while the mod is in early access.

You're wrong. LightmanP has always done this, as far back as I remember. He's not the only big modder to do so.

Absolutely, and 36 hours is better than a week or two, like some guys...

They don't get it cause their brains are fried from only doing this all day, just beating the skin off their dicks, so they expect shit for free cause they feel entitled to it.

People just think that it's all so easy, but they don't think that creating a mod is not about switching false to true, but about working with code, and at the same time, you need to take variables into account so that conflicts don't arise, and to take all of this into account, you need time and knowledge.

You simply could play the game the normal way hu?
Pathetic.

Also need to playtest the mod to make sure it doesn't kamikaze the game

I get that waiting 36 hours might feel like a long time for some, but the game itself was leaked way before its public release. Compared to that, a short wait for a mod something created for free in someone’s spare time is really not much.
Modders put real effort into making the mod. Some choose to earn a bit of support from it, and that’s fair. Early access is simply a way to appreciate the users who choose to support the modder.
