VN - Ren'Py - Ripples [v0.6.0 Public] [Jestur]

I played this not expecting much. But I am liking the premise.

Characters are all attractive even Jackie despite being 50+(Other games have really older ladies that really turn me off.

Story-wise, the pacing is great but there are some points when the internal monologues shift from one topic to another even when unrelated. There was no section where I was bored and actually made me pay attention to what I was reading (especially towards characters I really like). None of the main characters' personalities were obnoxious and some were really interesting.

Choices mostly decide the flavor text and whether you want an h-scene with the character or not. I tried this on different runs and it seems that saying yes to everyone does not impact your relationship with the other characters. I understand that divergent paths are hard to code but this makes the decisions impactful and the h-scenes earned. A bit ironic, especially since the story so far is weighted on going to the past and still not be able to change anything.

I really like the animations and transitions though. The frame rates are excellent. Though I would like different angles on some scenes but I can't complain.

There is also a decent chunk of content for reach episode with roughly about 3-4 H-scenes per episode. It is a game I would recommend and that I'll be watching out for.

This truly is an excellent sex fantasy game. It’s practically a masterclass on how to implement story and character in a way that’s sexy and erotic. Honestly, I think its weakest point is the visuals which after you get into it, gets the job done still.

STORY - 9.5/10 , it’s actually really dirty and really perverted but interestingly I think it hits a key note with a lot of porn game users that it sorta “feels vanilla” even though it really is quite perverse. It does however manage to create a very pleasant/fun sexy world as opposed to a lot of porn games which can feel predatory or scumbaggy which, even if the game itself is somewhat aware of itself as a fantasy, I’ve noticed turn away a good portion of users. Also it might help that a lot of the really perverted aspects are more suggested so far. It also really understands how to implement story into eroticism. How the mom character is written is an excellent example of this. Most importantly, the erotic content feels inspired. It's not "going thru the motions" like a lot of porn or porn games that kinda land flat. Like the best porn games, it feels like a sex *fantasy*.

CHARACTERS - 9/10 , they are distinct, have sexy dynamics with each other

PACING - 8.5/10 , has a good sense of pacing. There are parts that feel like exposition but they never go on for too long and they’re scattered thru the story in a way where you’re never going on for too long or far off from either sexy story elements or scenes. I recommend actually reading thru the game. It’s not bloated story and even the non sexy story elements serve a function of adding indirectly toward the eroticism of the game. If I were to guess, the game feels like about 40% non sexy and 60% sexy overall. I also recommend engaging in all the storylines (saying yes basically to all the character paths) for best fap results as they compliment each other in the overall eroticism/dirtiness, particularly the order of events.

VISUALS - 8/10 , this is actually probably its weakest area but still good enough. This game also makes some key successes in making sure things like the visual appearance of vaginas and semen got sufficient attention to detail which many games that might actually look a lot better in a frame or in the models of the face/breasts/body make the mistake of not doing. It's kinda a testament to the importance of genitals/vaginas/semen appearances in erotic games, and also expressions.

ANIMATIONS/EXPRESSIONS - 8.5/10 , there are some games that have fantastic renders but suffer from mediocre expressions or like a penis that looks like it's not moving and interacting with the vagina, it's just going thru it. This game has some nice attention to detail in that department that successfully adds to the eroticism of the game that you don't see a lot.

Honestly, it really feels like someone who understands what makes something sexy or erotic. It's early and who knows, but I kinda have a feeling if subsequent games are made after the completion of Ripples, the following games won't get stale or uninspired. Maybe there'll be a sophomore slump or something but I don't think this game creator is a one off. There's the elements there of someone who understands what makes for good eroticism. But I do hope at a minimum, the visuals will improve in quality to better match the very high quality standard of overall game and story direction. Something like Paralogue Operation Lovecraft that is more of a higher poly version of the same 3D hentai style for example. However, because of the style of setting/dialogue, I do think a more western AAA style visual production would be more ideal and would really match the story styles and make this unquestionably an all time greatest porn game. It already is strong on its own but I do think visuals in porn games are so core, people will play a shitty storied porn game with mediocre eroticism and characters just because the visuals look fantastic, even if the cum/vaginas looks off. The story also doesn't really feel like it's a hentai to me. It feels like a really good porn story that was put in a japanese style erotic game to tell a story it doesn't really fit into. I don't know if it's a team making this or one person who had a vision for a really good erotic/sexy game and just needed some reasonably decent way to express that vision while not being a visual specialist, but I'd really like to see someone comparable to NLT or lewdlab who are very strong visually in production, produce these storylines/scenes.

Just played this game for the first time Version 3.1 and I'm very glad I did. I don't think there is anything I could say negative about this game so far. All the girls were written well and very likable. The plot hook of the story is the real star thought. I am really excited to see where the MC goes from here. Ill be watching out for this game from now on. Thank you to the creator for making this game!

Ripples is really good. I would honestly compare it to Once In A Lifetime for gameplay, story quality, and characters, which is a big compliment. People who enjoy OIAL will absolutely enjoy Ripples. The premise is excellent and fresh, if the title and previews haven't already made it obvious that it involves some fun time travelling shenanigans. Renders and animations are of excellent quality. The characters are also pretty fun with good mixes of humor and reality sprinkled into dialogue, instead of mindlessly throwing themselves at the player. While each update progresses the story well, there's also scenes properly mixed in with good progression so that every update is saucy.

Really good game with a time travel sci fi setting and a nice cast of girls.
I really like the petite main LI, and I can't wait to see what the author will do with the time travel, the potential is huge.
The characters are well written enough to make me interested in a character that I didn't find particularly appealing in the first place (Skylar).
And, something very important for me, the game don't force you to any girl, the player get the control of how the MC act with each girl.

Excellent writing, pretty girls, characters with strong personalities, and awesome renders.
What’s not to like?

It’s just at 0.2, but you can already see how promising it is. I like it when a game has an interesting and intriguing plot outside the lewd stuff, and this game has it.
Of course, it also meets and exceeds in that regard. Special mention to custom animations, which make sex scenes unique. This is HoneySelect pushed to the limit.
Keep up the good work Jestur! Can’t wait for more.

This is game is in the early stages but is off to a very good start and has the potential to become one of the best HS games.
- The story is good enough to not skip the text so that's a win in my view
- all the characters are pretty interesting ( i really like Darci personality it's something different from usual)
-The renders and animations are great, if I might add I would like more potions and angles and future updates.
-The models vary from busty to flat which I really like.
- REally like the concept of time travel hope i see more of that
All in all, a very fun game to play if u are looking for something vanilla and also no grinding for scenes.

Ripples have two side to it. First, the erotic gameplay. While the characters feel a bit over the top sexsual for a "real world" setting, it is nice to see that there is personality and character to each and every girl, which usually eludes many adult game creators. Albeit I do not mind incest (i can fuck with a sister or aunt setting, but not with any of the "mommy" shit), it is nice to see that the creator gives the player the option to choose what to pursue.

Each and every girl made to perfection, and while some of their design does not compleatly match their personality, this "outward appearance doesn't match the inner quirks" way of making the characters give them another level of "real wolrd people" feel to it. The ambience and the "maps" for the lack of other word, are perfect. The match the semi rural american setting.

All in all, great job with this game. If anyone interested in a mild harem, and intriguing time travel story, I can wholeheartedly suggest Ripple.

This game is excellent! The scenario, animations, character development are really next level. It is a very ambitious project for which the developer has profoundly established a very strong beginning to the narrative so far.

In this game you will be able to find one of the hottest MILFs in any honey select based game that exists and also you will be satisfied by the actual depth of the characters and by the length of each update.

Well the main plot concept isn't new in fact follows a very similar plot line to that of most time travel fictions but it's quite interesting and enjoyable it's own way with it's own twist

The story is pretty enjoyable but i do hope for some more twists in the future
The writing and humors are on par with each other and the choice of music just compliments with everything that sets a great atmosphere

I don't usually write reviews, mostly because it's not my mother tongue. But I couldn't pass up this Novel! , It has an incredible anime style, with characters with their own very marked characteristics, it causes thanks without the need to put jokes at all times like other novels on the site, a quite refreshing plot for 2020 (trips to the past). If you told me that this game is produced by a company that has made eroges I would believe it, the quality is quite impeccable.

Story 4/5 A funny and quite bearable story, well set in time travel and understandable jokes. It has to be approached carefully or it may ruin the whole novel as it is a complicated subject to carry.
Soundtrack: 5/5 For a novel at such an early stage it has a suitable soundtrack for each situation, the music fits perfectly. I clarify that I am not a specialist in the subject and I am taking into account the limitations of the game.
Content: 5/5 An absurdly good amount of content for a 0.2. If I remember correctly, it is about 5 to 6 hours of impressive play.

An intriguing story supported by an interesting cast of characters. With smoothly animated scenes and choices that reward you, especially with how the story has progressed. This game surprises at turns and has the potential to be greater. I look forward to future releases.

Good visuals, great writing, and overall a very fun game with an upbeat tone. The story starts off simple but gets interesting and intriguing with time and has easy to read well-written dialogue that has multiple choices and fun distinct characters that make it a really enjoyable experience, as well as having well-constructed and written intimate scenes.

So in short there's no reason not to at least try the game out, it's fun and has already a good amount of content.

So I found this randomly scrolling through, hadn't heard of it before but I loved every minute and i'm surprised it's not mentioned more often.

Visuals
It uses honey select so the characters are pretty anime, I personally love HS games. This has to be the best use of it i've seen though. The renders are gorgeous and I absolutely love the character designs. All the girls are stunning and unique.

Story
This surprised me most, really interesting plot idea I don't want to spoil and I look forward to seeing more of it. The characters are developed really well so far, I especially like Darci's take no shit attitude. The game manages to keep the balance between developing characters and plot with erotic content just right. Too many games swing to far in either direction and I'm finding it difficult to find games with the right balance but so far this has been exactly what I want.

There is a surprising amount here in just two episodes. A good 6 hours maybe?

All in all definitely one I will be keeping track of and possible funding on patreon, I really want to see where it goes. Recommended.

Best art in a honey select game that I've personally played and the dialogue is well done. I haven't played through it fully yet but I usually forget to review things once I'm done and was particularly impressed with this game.

EDIT: Have played all the content in version 2.1 now and still think it's awesome. The people complaining about the scifi elements being unrealistic in the main thread are knuckle draggers. It is a porn game and I think the story makes more than enough sense to enjoy.

Bloody hell ! This game rockets towards the top of my favorite list, here I was enjoying a good slice of life with interesting and funny characters (Darci and her grandma are a riot) and then BAHM ! Plot twist !
I'm so glad I didn't read the thread before playing and just went with my guts based on the decription, previews and high reviews score, it would have been a shame to spoil the twist for myself. And that's just with Episode 1 ! I'm going right back for Episode 2

Art is really well done for a creator that doesn't have much funding on patreon yet. Then my personal preference but I like how they don't have you wait to long to get into the sexy scenes while also keeping up a pretty intriguing story while all of it is going on. It's the perfect blend between the two.

What a lovely surprise this one is, well crafted, both in story and in design.

I've picked thus far, quite a few interesting... easter eggs if you will. And that's the surprising part to me, not only "wrench" (lol) is my favorite band, so is "Obscure" one of my new favorite batch of somewhat recent shows (wink wink, trying not to spoil here). I wonder if we'll get a BSG or "Stranded" references down the line...

Anyways, easily my favorite game in here now, can't wait for more content. Keep it up Jestur and spiral out.

I've just finished my very first run of Ripples and since I'm more of a lazy writer I can only fully agree with Batman187's post in the thread. Rarely played such an entertaining VN and I also fell in love with Skylar, I mean how can you not fall in love with a headbanging metal chick even if she is not a redhead (giving a broad hint Jestur how about a little hair dye for her ). The MC is wonderfully normal and not, as usual, a perverted selfish asshole, that can't be emphasized enough.

My conclusion: very nice graphics, excellent animations, good background sound, great story, very pretty girls with all kinds of body types and a pleasant MC.

In one sentence, I'm (aside from wishing for more redheads) perfectly happy with Ripples.
