I by no means mean to be that person, but with only 10% more art and the rest being proof reading and testing does that mean we might be looking at less than a week. I don't mean to hold anyone to a best guess just sort of curious. I mean heck something could come up and side line everything I get that or just small unexpected bumps could happen that make it take a bit longer. I guess I was just hoping for a round about idea. This is in my top 2 or 3 anticipated games, so I am super antsy. The work is really good though so weather it's a few days or 9 months ( hopefully the former and not the latter lol) I respect the effort put into it. Ok been rambling too much I hope everyone has an amazing rest of their weekend :)
A week? If you are going to ask a question like this, at least think it through. It's been 8 months (207 days) since the last release. 10% more time is at least 21 days. And that's just the art. Once you add the art you have to test to make sure all the art shows up where it's supposed to. And who know what else can happen. Two months minimum. And even that is probably generous.

sooo does anybody know when is the next Dev update?
There's no set date by which Jestur sends out regular Progress Reports/Dev Updates like DPC, Royal Candy, Ocean etc. Jestur is more in line with Caribdis who gives out monthly/bi-monthly dev logs but not on any particular date. Same with their previews. As for the next update. Jestur is finishing up some animations as well as in the proofing/testing phase. So we're close to the finish line. I would predict an early July release.

Yes, it has been divined by a cabal of nine seers, each the seventh child of a seventh child. They gathered in secret holy places and through dark rituals too profane to describe (lest God turn His face from humankind in shame) divined without divinity the time and place the next proclamation. But the cost of this revelation was high and warped the minds of those sorry souls, they saw much and too much and Madness claimed them for her own. They know The Truth and the whole of The Truth, though sense has left them and their anguished screams now serve as reminder that some knowledge was not meant for this world nor the people of it.

Idk if it's just me, probably, but this episode seems be the in longest production time than every other ep

Pretty sure that was Ep 4 or 5. Jestur had surgeries in the middle of production on one of the episodes so it padded the production time. This one has been about 7 months. Definitely on the lengthier side. I'm personally fine with the wait. He has the best honey select renders/animations and lengthy updates while doing it alone. That and I really enjoy the story above all.

Definitely worth the wait. I'm sure it will not disappoint. But it's correct that this is the longest episode production time yet. If it were to release tomorrow (not gonna happen), it would be 229 days since the Ep 6 release. I predict that we'll be looking at about 240-250 days for this release

It's very normal and expected for releases to take progressively longer as a game develops. Later releases have more path branches to cover that will need their own unique renders and writing. Also, as devs' skills increase, some tend to perfect things more, both the art and the writing. Let him cook, men! We'll be eating good soon enough.

FWIW, I think he had surgeries while in production of both episode 5 and episode 1's remaster.

Episode 3 was in 2 parts. Total production time: 254 days. I don't remember if it was said at the time but my impression was always that it was split so that there wouldn't be such a long wait from chapter 2, then after that Jestur decided not to split chapters again.

It's a long time between updates but each one is substantial. I replayed the whole thing recently. I had intended only to go back to the first meeting with Riley so I could reject her (!!!!!) and then fast forward to the scene where you choose whether to bury the box (I hadn't before but wanted to see what happened if I did, and having done that I think it is the better, or at least more interesting, choice) and then again to catch up to the present. Somehow I found myself on a Friday night starting from the beginning. I didn't sleep that night and still did not finish. Took most of the weekend to get to the end.

If you're a fast reader who doesn't spend much time looking at the pictures either, you could get through it fast. I've never seen the point of speed reading fiction. I want it to go at a real world pace so I read dialogue about as fast as I'd speak it and same with the rest of the text. And there's something to be said for taking your time looking at the images as well, in a VN like this with quality art.

And this matters because? What? It takes as long as it takes. The only thing asking repeatedly does is potentially make the dev anxious and that slows them down causing more anxiety and then they quit because their mental health is more important than dealing with "When's the next update?" posts.
