You are not, a few people have mentioned having that issue.
I (thankfully) am not one of them so I am not sure what the solution was, if there even was one. I think it had something to do with the new version of Ren'py, but might be wrong.
Either try the search box, or scroll back a few pages, you should be able to find the discussions.

No. Older computers seem to have trouble with the new Renpy graphic settings. The easiest improvement I've seen is hitting "Shift-G" and changing the render settings from Auto to Forced (and trying the two options to see which works best, but most say Angle). I also tried reducing the framerate to 30, and that seemed to help a bit when I'd just restarted my computer, but yea, it's not fun having ancient (2-3+ year old) hardware.

EDIT: to clarify, the game was on Renpy 7, and I'm pretty sure it's on Renpy 8 now, which -- if I'm right -- is the problem. Happened to me in Leap of Faith too.

Jestur I am so mad at you!!!!!!

In the walkthrough it shows that the variable for losing your virgnity is called "becomeman". This is so wrong!!! We should NOT be glorifying sex and teaching young boys that having sex is what makes you a man!!!!

I expected better of you, what kind of example are you setting for our children??

Hmm ... you may be joking but I guess few kids don't watch porn these days. On the other hand, there are few works of fiction, porn or otherwise, that aren't worse than Ripples in this regard. And the further in time you go back, the worse it gets.

Actually, that gives me some cause for optimism.

I haven't been following the discussion of Ripples that thoroughly anywhere, but I have to admit I was a tiny bit taken-aback when I saw that v0.4 was already going back to just make changes to v0.1. So we're only on the 4th update before going back to add graphical improvements for the 1st one?

Maybe I'm missing something here, but does that not feel a bit like a holding pattern? The first chapter was genuinely fine and didn't really need changes (and as far as I could make out from replaying it, it definitely didn't seem that different). Has Jestur addressed this anywhere about why he went back to re-do things instead of carrying it forward?

His reasoning was basically "I got much better in the lighting and stuff in chap 2, and I want my whole game to reflect that" -- He also adjusted some story points to make the early relationships a bit more of a build (for instance, Krystal no longer flashes 1/4 of the class without panties as soon as she finds out you're on the market, nor does she risk blowing you in the bathroom. Your first date is still on point though.)

PS: He's already in progress on Chap 5, so even if this was as much a mental break as a refresh of the first chapter, it seems to have been a good one.

I really like this game. I wrote a review but I accidently mentioned another developer which is not allowed. I just said I think your game has a similar style and I like that. Well placed humor. Crazy characters but not too crazy to be unrelatable and a story that has enough mystery and just enough (but not too much) exposition to be engaging without killing the mystery and thrill.

I also said that I haven't played honey select games including ripples (this game) because I was biased and sceptical that honey select games could be any good. But jestur (this game's developer) proved me wrong and showed me that honey select games can be great and my bias was unjustified.

I really like the storytelling and I can't wait for the next chapter. I love this fictional stories that are a mix of reality and fantasy or scifi.

I had only one critic point and that was after chapter three (no spoilers don't worry) the music stopped to fast. The music transported the mood very well and it would have been nice to listen to it a bit longer. But it's just a very small critic point.

Oh and it would be really nice if Lizzie would get more screen time, even if she stays purely lesbian (she was bisexual in the past the game hinted), because she seems to be a very interesting character. Even if there are no plans to make her bisexual again, it would be nice to see more story with her!

That is all. Keep up the good work!

I don't think I can support via patreon, but I will definitely support via itch.io when the game is finished. If the quality stays like this that is 100% sure.

I'm with you there. She was already my favorite apparently non-playable character before the shit ninja incident, and that just made me want her to be a part of the story more, just as just someone in on the plot so you interact with her more. I know that role is basically Darcy's, so I'm not expecting her to be more than a background character, but what little we've seen has been fun.

Lizzie needs to have a few scenes :cry: I swear when she said she used to be bisexual, she looked at the MC, as if hinting that either they had a thing or she was into him. Hopefully there's a chance she and the glasses girl (who used to be MC's partner for school) will get some scenes in the game, even just as side characters, not love interests
