Just so we are not talking about Sharing Pineapple Pizza...

That would be going beyond the pale!!

Cheers!! :coffee:
Have you seen the "sushi girls"? Well, Riley has a fetish where she covers herself in sauce, cheese, ham and pineapple chunks while lying on a table and having multiple partners eat her like a pizza. When she's feeling spicy, she adds jalepeno. ;)

Although, I doubt she combines this with her fandle-bars gizmo - that would just get too messy even for her.

I have seen sushi girls.

I believe it is an unspoken courtesy to keep the wasabi away from them.

Misplaced wasabi could be Quite painful...

That's why you use fresh grated, at a separate, but nearby, station, not that phony green horseradish paste. ;)

The incest patch on the OP says it's no longer supported?

I always find this stuff confusing, but is this actually meant to be an incest game, or was the patch just some fan thing somebody made?

I mean, I get that. I meant is it """"fan-made"""" or genuinely fan-made, because sometimes fans just create patches to turn non-incest games into that even when it isn't """""supposed""""" to be. Like what was the actual intent of the dev?

Why are you so interested in knowing? To me it seems a poor attempt at trying to """"put a dev in trouble"""" or """"pointless speculation"""" (sorry couldn't resist lol) or just to start some """kind of drama""" with a topic that is irrelevant. If you like incest use it if not don't use it, simple. But really, asking what is the intent of the dev about this is sus.

We should assume that the released version on a particular crowdfunding site represents the developer's intent. pitao is right that if you want to use the fan-made patch, you should. Asking the question you did isn't going to get you the answers you want.
I understand why you're asking. Sometimes these fanmade patches don't work well with the story and produce inconsistencies. Other times, the patches seem to clear up the inconsistencies.
Rather than asking about intent, maybe ask if the patch makes the story more coherent.

Personally, I think the patch for Ripples makes the relevant parts of the story make just slightly less sense. Although there are a couple sentences that in the patch that I like better than the original.

It doesn't say that?

The patch is on Lewdpatcher....

That was changed when the ban wave went through on Patreon a few months ago, and "someone" tried wiping everything....

Since the recent crusade against all things possibly 'incest' struck Patreon, it has become increasingly difficult to determine a developer's intent in this matter. Even when developers avoid Patreon and use another funding source, there seems to be a reluctance to write games with straight-forward incest content, lest the 'disease' spread to their funding source.

I can understand that players want to know how developers want their games to play out. I do too, because that's how I want to play the game. I'm an incest proponent, but if the developer wants something else, I don't want any part of a patch that forces incest into the game. I WANT to play the game as the developer intends, regardless.

If we can read the code, which is always possible in a Ren'Py game, we can look for 'patchability' - how easy can a patch be employed? Are the relationships modifiable, either through choices or through a specific trigger? But that's a lot to ask of the average gamer. Those here who do have that ability, could post their findings on this matter here on F95. But then, do we run the risk of some Crusader running off to Patreon with the news, in an attempt to pull down the game?

I do not see an easy solution to this.

For me, as an incest fetishist, I am at least encouraged that some developers still start incest games, even with funding on Patreon. How long those games will remain funded is another question.

I think the patch works well with this story. I've never tried without it, so I can't say how the story plays out that way, but at no point did anything feel forced. The relationships between the characters make sense. I've seen stories where a fan made patch did not work well and it was obvious the writing did not support it (a favourite broken line in one was when the patch had the MC refer to his sister saying "she's like a sister to me").

If the patch were to no longer be usable with newer versions, I would happily switch to playing without it. I believe the story is written such that it works well either way and it should not break my saves.

I won't speak to the dev's intent. I have my opinion on that but it is mine alone.
