Foster siblings who grew up together in the same household can legally get married in the vast majority of the US. And that's essentially what Jessica and the MC are in game without the patch. Unless it's mentioned somewhere that Tiffany legally adopted him, but I don't recall that.

Adoption on the other hand creates a legally binding familial relationship and that can and is considered incest in many places.

I'm not sure if it's ever clearly stated whether the MC was legally adopted by Tiffany or not. In my country, France, I know that adoption and family relationships formed through a parent's marriage prohibit unions between members of the two joined families (such as between stepparents and stepchildren). Only a few exceptions, I believe, have ever been granted, typically through a presidential authorization (only in the event of the death of the parent who established the alliance) or a court decision.

Yeah but we're talking about the payment processors and Patreon cracking down here. Technically there are many places here where sodomy is considered illegal. But you won't see them cracking down on oral or anal sex content because it's illegal in a few places. Only stuff that's likely to get them in hot water on a widespread level.

But I have def heard of a cop trying to cause trouble for 2 people over 18 with no blood relation, because one of them was an ex step-parent of the other. And it was still technically incest wherever it happened (gotta protect those kids - even tho they're adult now - from step-parent predators, right?) What are you even talking about? I literally said step-family can be considered incest in many places. I agreed with you on that lmao. Just that it doesn't apply to this game at all. Foster siblings are not the same thing as step-siblings.

Patreon rules don't care about blood relationship. Even if Tiff isn't a blood parent, she raised the MC like a mother. Jessica isn't just a "roommate," she is like a sister because they grew up together since they were kids. Tiptoeing around the Patreon rules is just that, and doesn't mean anything for Patreon either, because they include these relationships in their rules, too.

The mod with the iPatch is the original relationships before the rules, and makes a lot more sense in-game.
