As someone who just got here I have but one thing to say: The Brain under Adrenaline sometimes does some weird things, maybe I would also run out without shoes because I surpress the Feeling of walking without shoes until the Adrenaline goes away but luckily it hasn't come to that yet.I don’t wear shoes at home either but in warm weather there are always shoes that can be put on in a couple of seconds. Post doing my time for Uncle Sam, I've worn closed the shoes the absolute minimum amount of times I could.

So is the topic whether Jenny and Jackie could be the same person? Sure, they can. I'm positive later in the story we'll find out that time travel can happen to other time periods too, so Jenny could have traveled further back in times from the 90's.

I think you might be on to something... Another brick in the wall of evidence that Jenny is Jackie.
As far as going outside barefoot? Absolutely. Shoes are an uncomfortable hassle. The only way my shoes are at all involved in a confrontation with an intruder/trespasser/peeping tom on my property would be as projectiles and that's only if I can't grab my bat or pistol quickly enough.
A stronger link between Jenny and Jackie is Darcie saying she had to cheat to beat Jackie at Mortal Kombat or whatever it's called there and losing to Jack anyways, and then Jenny being on par with him in the same series of games and Jack thinking of how much she reminds him of Darcie. Can we do away with this stupid and unneeded "are you over 18 yes/no" question crap. Just put your warning in a corner somewhere. You don't need to ask me about it. -- No one will come after you if if don't ask it.
Funny scenario: What if the player turns 18 in exactly 1 day. Is there like a switch that flips to indicate you're now an "adult"?
It's also not universal. For most of Europe it's 16, not 18.

As a proponent of yes all, I hate extra "choice" clicks. Will I quit a game for it, no. Will it affect my overall enjoyment of the story, no. Would it impact my rating if I bothered to do those things, no.
Does my internal monologue heave a giant overly dramatic long-suffering sigh everytime I have to click one, yes, yes it does.

Yes, the requirement to have the player click yes or no is important because THEN it's on the player, NOT the dev, if someone underage does play, because there is no way to argue they didn't realize it was going to have adult material.*
If there's no button to press, it can be argued (stupidly) that the player "missed" the notice.
Is any of this ever likely to come into play? Probably not, but that's why 95% (if not all) of the games have it.
*Unless of course the player can prove they can't read, but then you have other issues in play.
