12 Monkeys FTW.I guess if they ever watch the movie "Predestination" their mind will explode. And I love those "perfect" paradoxes.

I love that whole scene, very funny the first time I saw that.Edit : And this again deserves the usual TBBT video about time travel I put for laughs (for the 3rd time on the thread).
Yes that one is great also but Predestination is based on a Heinlein short story from the 50s that IMHO should be the base for every good time travel stories and paradoxes. And it was written in 1 day, he is one of the greats of sci-fi imo.12 Monkeys FTW.![]()
That's more than Starship Troopers can claim.Predestination is based on a Heinlein short story
I can and will suspend my disbelief, sure. But if important plot points don't make sense, it will break my immersion. I'll still play the game, but I will enjoy it less. There is nothing more dangerous than trying to find reason in the "order of operations" in a time travel story. You must accept the explanations that the MC and the story give, or you simply will not enjoy the story haha.
It's pretty simple, Darci's mom was saved because the MC and Darci went back in time. If they hadn't, she would have died, which means Darci would never have been born, but since she was she HAD to go back in time to save her. It's what's called a predestination paradox. They're super common in time travel plots. Just look at Back to the Future.I can and will suspend my disbelief, sure. But if important plot points don't make sense, it will break my immersion. Say what you will, but the more the coherent and plausible the story, the more people will appreciate it.
Well it is still a good story with all the incoherence's and less plausible events that are intrinsic to time travel order of the events in the story aka plot(s). Maybe this sub-genre of sci-fi isn't for you, because the example you gave is far from the "worst"/incoherent I saw in time travel stories and it is easily explained in a time travel "logic" like I posted before or like UnoriginalUserName posted before this one, that she was only saved in the "present" because the events were "determined" that they would go back in time to save her. There is always hard sci-fi that relies more on realism, maybe more suited for you.I can and will suspend my disbelief, sure. But if important plot points don't make sense, it will break my immersion. I'll still play the game, but I will enjoy it less.

IIRC, in Back to the Future the MC traveled back in time somewhat by accident while trying to run for his life. It wasn't something like 'I have to go back otherwise my mom and dad will never get together', which is an analogy for what happens when Darci tells us we have to return to save her mom. Her mom is already safe and sound in her home, so it doesn't truly work as a plot device. It's pretty simple, Darci's mom was saved because the MC and Darci went back in time. Basically every time travel story has some (or several) sort of paradox(es). Like, you make a time machine to go back in time to do something, and by doing that and doing the thing, you no longer have the motivation / need to make the time machine in the future because the thing you initially did it for was already done, but it was only done because you went back in time to do it, which required the time machine.
You can get around the paradox(es) by never being able to return to your original timeline if ANY changes, no matter how miniscule, are made (which is basically impossible) - whenever you "return" to the present or future you're actually travelling to an alternate reality.

Predestination? Paradoxes? Multiple timelines? Ripple effects? Different dimensions? Butterfly effects? Or is it really that complicated after all?IIRC, in Back to the Future the MC traveled back in time somewhat by accident while trying to run for his life. But this can still be written in a way that will make sense. Maybe the mysterious guy who probably sent the message to Darci had other reasons to send us back in time. And he knew we'd act on impulse trying to help Darci and her mom, and wouldn't think logically. That's pretty plausible, and I trust the dev to come up with e good explanation in the upcoming episode.
Regardless, I'm excited thinking we might get some quality time with Luna![]()
Yes.Edit for on-topic: MILF Scarlett or Young Spitfire Scarlett?
I didn't read exactly like that but you are free to take your own conclusions. I read more that Darci really wanted to know what happend to her mom 20 years before when she went missing and she truly believes/destiny (yes incoherent but works because Darci is still immature, impulsive and emotional and have a hero complex, triggered by a photo of her mom restrained) that she has to be saved by her and the MC. Of course if they wouldn't go she would still get found/saved since she is alive in 2019. Yes not the best plot device ever because it is made on emotion and impulsiveness but works either way. It would be worse if they were more experienced and still act like that.It wasn't something like 'I have to go back otherwise my mom and dad will never get together', which is an analogy for what happens when Darci tells us we have to return to save her mom. For me the plot makes more sense with incest patch, along others might disagree. But both work fine. Keep in mind though that the patch is outdated, it's for 0.6 and not for newer versions, so it might crash the game. The multi-mod does have the incest tag integrated though, and it's for 0.7. But the content is the same with or without incest, it just changes the plot a bit.2 short questions:
- is the game meant to be played with incest patch and will content be missed if not installed?
- can one romance all girls at the same time or will this create problems along the way?
Oh that's awesome thanks. I didn't realize updates would be uploaded separately, any I've seen so far were in the list with main downloads. Thanks, appreciate it!Usually there is update only patches made by the compressors of the site when the games are larger than 3-4GB, depends on the game aka popularity and those have more requests for update only patches hehe.
So in Ripples you just have to search "update only v0.7.0". Actually I did that search and it is in the same post than the compressed version so you can also search "compressed v0.7.0" and you get the same post. I won't link it to you because people should really start to learn how to use the search function.
Well not everyone have high speed internet, for me 8.5GB depends on the days or hour of the day, if there is much traffic (days or near the hour of football games with one of the 3 main teams here in Portugal for example) for sure I won't DL 8.5GB in 20 minutes. During the "sleep" hours for sure is near that but I still doubt it, and I only have 3G internet speed where I live, no cable here, for me what matters the most is stability of the internet and on that I can't complain.
But yeah still 2-3 days is exaggerated, maybe they have download limits with their provider, no idea. Rarely there is download limits here in Portugal on "land line" internet packages, for what I know only limits here is for phones.
Not an exaggeration. While 8.5g normally doesn't take long to download, all the upload sites have a rate limit that makes it take almost 2 hours. They also have a download limit, which means once it gets to 5gb downloaded or so, come back tomorrow and hope you can resume the download. You probably exaggerate a little. I don't know what these limits you have, but 8.5 G is about 20 minutes of downloading.
They are not (official), but there is threads on the site to request compression and updates only patches. You see those members with a label in their user names of "Compressor". No idea about the technicalities but they use tools to separate the files that were added and changed and make a update only file to be added/overwrite to the previous version. Those are not official update patches that is why they put always a disclaimer like this "The patch may break your game, use at your own risk.", but so far never had any issue using those patches, as long you apply them correctly.Oh that's awesome thanks. I didn't realize updates would be uploaded separately, any I've seen so far were in the list with main downloads. Thanks, appreciate it!
Rarely had that issue but usually I use GoFile as first choice, no limits there besides a monthly huge limit but I heard that in some countries isn't an option, in Portugal I have no issues downloading thru GoFile. Pixeldrain and Mega have daily limits, but Pixeldrain still downloads slower after the limit. In Ripples there is also Mediafire that I never saw any daily limit too. But that is in my country, no idea if is different for other countries. I always avoid mixdrop since is filled with ads, sometimes they even appear with my adblocker onNot an exaggeration. About the 2nd question, you can still romance every girl, but you won't be able to have see all content, there are some scenes that you get from one girl or another, or none, depending your choice. Which is sad, because of my favorite girls on this game are on the most notorious choice. But you still are able to have content with all of them in one playthrough, just not ALL content.
There isn't any confirmation yet of harem with all girls, and the answers given hint that we won't have that in the end game. But that may can change in the future, we never know. Still, even if I like to get all girls and not let one behind, I deeply recommend you to play it. Definitely in my top 5-6 on this website, it's well worth it, and the dev is actually a nice and down-to earth guy.
Guess you should have rejected this since it doesn't have the tags "Male Dom", "Misogyny" and "Men That Feel Threatened By Equals".I read a few other parts of Ripples and I my opinion has changed a bit. I still dislike the dynamic of the girls assuming the male role of initiating sex while the MC goes passively along for the ride like girls do - but I understand why its done and its in 98% of games like that and here its not even that aggrevating as far as I have seen now. I might have caught the worst scenes when I checked the game out first.
The animations are very good and its a breath of fresh air that MC's buddy is getting some instead of getting constantly humiliated for jokes. Enjoyed myself reading yesterday. May it continue like that.
And a peacefull dull relationship with a well meaning patronizing man has many advantages. Exciting gets tiring fast.
In the long run. Even in VNs it can be good like Cosy Cafe shows.
