Yeah weird things can happen in time travel stories. But I'd be surprised if Jestur writes this in a way that the MC ends up spending years in prison, which is why I doubt the MC is her father even though it's technically possible. Plus that twist would essentially be Jestur nuking his own very successful Patreon since we've already gone all the way with Skylar.
Maccabbee Seemed to be implying Luna thought the MC was arrested at the end of the party, which maybe she did. But at that point MC and Luna hadn't had sex yet, so she couldn't think he was Skylars father but in jail because of that encounter.

Yeah, and just because they think the father is in jail doesn't make that so. Luna could have made that up for Skylar to explain a missing dad, or something. I happen to think that there is another father, who may likely be in jail. I think the whole being dad to your girlfriends is just a tease, but it could be so.

I believe at one point Skylar mentions that her and her mom are actively working on his case to try and get him out on parole. So unless I'm misremembering that, Skylar and Luna both know her dad, where he's imprisoned and why.
They could always throw in a twist where the guy in prison isn't actually her dad and Luna lied to them both about that. It'd be a shitty twist straight out of some daytime soap but it's possible.

You could be right, Skylar is my best girl in 2019, but it's been a while since I've played that route... We've been in 1999 for a while, now, and frankly, I as a person am much more comfortable back in my native era.

To be fair, I don't actually think the MC is "everyone's" dad ... and after the last update I don't even think MC and Luna necessarily ever have sex or meet again in the past. I'm just saying it's a Timey-Wimey story and nothing is technically off the table until the fat lady sings (or pigs fly or it rains cats and dogs ... whatever your favorite idiom.)

Well I think it's probably safe to assume the MC won't turn out to the father of anyone he can have sex with. Simply because Jestur already altered this game to remove the incest and to be Patreon compliant. Adding it back in, especially after his Patreon has gotten so successful, would be really silly of him.
If this game weren't tied to Patreon I'd fully agree anything is possible. Since it is though some things are off the table unless Jestur wants to blow up that account for whatever reason.

I hope next update the dev consider fixing the awful lag on animation. Also problem with consuming too much memory or cpu. So many renpy dev out there, some with good animation and run smooth even on low console. And their file way more higher or better than this. So this kind of absurd if this can't be fixed specially after years.

Maybe it's your PC/laptop the one that can't run Ripples? I did had some problems when playing Ripples back in 2021-2022, but it was a very old laptop, so I bought a new one and I haven't got any lag problems since then.

Bad news: things are only gonna get trickier. Developers are leaning towards using newer video codecs like HEVC (H.265) or AV1. They give you better quality and smaller file sizes, but they also eat up way more processing power to decode. So, videos that use these fancy codecs tend to demand a beefier PC or device to run smoothly. In Ren'Py games, that can make things a lot more resource-heavy
Maybe the difference is because the videos are at 60fps and most are over 5 seconds long, with a high bitrate.

Yep. This has always been the case. As the years go by and new computers get faster it's not only the top end that is affected. The floor for what you need to do even basic tasks goes up as well, such as playing video files.
Had a rig I used which was a nice mid/high end system when I built it around '99-'00. By the mid-late 2000s HD videos were becoming more and more common and that rig would seriously start to chug or even drop frames trying to play them.
Renpy is not a demanding engine for many use cases but eventually as more games make use of newer technologies the minimum base processing power you'll need to have a good experience will rise as well. It sounds like Ripples is apparently an example of this.
