Okay, genuinely curious. I last played this in a very early iteration, and I got the strong impression at the time that the plot would revolve around you being the secret father of several of the 2019 girls, through time travel shenanigans. Is this (still or ever) anyone else's impression of the plot?

It literally can't be as the game is on Patreon, they will all have different fathers.

I think almost everyone thought that MC could be the father of all the 2019 girls and even his own father, but now no, it really doesn't make sense timewise for he to be the father of all the girls, and even if it was Jestur intention at the beginning (who knows?) now with patreon hunt for incest games it will never happen.

Certainly that started sounding like a possibility once MC started meeting the mothers of the 2019 LIs, but there's nobody for whom the facts as currently known fit. As far as we've yet seen, MC has only traveled between 1999 and 2019, and all of the 2019 girls are either too young or too old to have been fathered in 1999--except for Skylar. And while things sure looked like they were headed that way before Cindy did her thing, MC hasn't had sex with Skylar's mother in 1999.

Now, of course, lots of things could happen to change this. MC isn't the only one who's time-traveled (see April, Darci, Riley, and Skylar, at least). In at least some of those cases, it hasn't been a simple 20-year jump one way or the other--so he could, perhaps, go back to 2000 rather than 1999. He could just wait until 2020, and then go back to 2000. He could yet come back to 1999 and get together with Luna (though that strikes me as unlikely, on both counts). Khloe or Scarlett could jump forward by a year before giving birth to their respective daughters (because MC certainly had the opportunity to get them pregnant).

I don't think I ever understood that the plot would revolve around this question/issue, but it did seem like we were headed for a situation where it would be the case. But Patreon rules being what they are, at most, it'd be implicit--suppose, for example, that Cindy hadn't cock-blocked MC with Luna. In that case (and presuming he finished inside), it's possible that MC is Skylar's father. If no more is said about it (or perhaps the question is raised but not answered), the player is left to believe whatever he (or she) wants. But for whatever reason, Jestur decided to rule out that possibility--and if he did that here, I don't think we're going to see another case where "MC is her father" would be even a possibility.

To be fair, it doesn't look like that was the way the story was planned. Even in earlier states of the story it wouldn't have made a lot of sense and the story wasn't changed. Sure, the incest fetish crowd liked to see it the other way, but by all means, it wouldn't have made sense.

For those who like to build theories about the plot of this game, I recommend the movie Predestination (2014). The stories aren't connected, but it brings an interesting perspective.

Hello Subscribers,

I hope you are all doing well. I'm doing pretty well myself. I celebrated my birthday a few days ago and had a nice time. It's getting cooler here in the Midwest, and I'm looking forward to the cooler fall weather, Halloween, and all that—my favorite time of the year.
Ripples development has been going well. I got a lot of the dialogue and coding done for episode 9, and I've mostly been working on renders and animations these past few weeks. I've already finished the first three scenes. They are not huge scenes or anything, but they're great scenes with some spicy content. This episode will feature scenes with girls that a lot of people have been waiting for, so I'm excited to finally work on those. I think you'll really enjoy the scenes. The next chunk of content I'll be working on is a lot of dialogue and story. So I should be able to get a lot done in the next couple of weeks.
Currently, I have a little over 200 renders, 21 animations, and most of the dialogue and coding finished. I don't have too much to report at this time, so I'll keep this post short.

    • I'd obviously be glad she made it. But would I feel the same way about 41-year-old 2019 Jenny as about 21-year-old 1999 Jenny? Would she feel the same way about MC? She's had a kid with someone else in that time, after all.
  • Jenny listened to MC, didn't work at the plant, but died for some other reason before 2019
    • Boo! Not as much because Jenny's dead as because it would really feel like a cop-out.
  • Jenny listened to MC but was still affected by the plant accident in some way
    • A theory discussed previously in this thread is that the accident, rather than killing her, sent her back 20 years (so to 1989), where she assumed the identity of Jackie Gilmour, making her Darci's grandmother. This of course introduces all sorts of complications, but goes a long way toward explaining Jackie's apparent attraction to MC. And IIRC her body was never found, so she was always "missing, presumed dead."
The first is pretty risky; killing off a popular character can alienate a lot of your audience, but it could be explained with the rest of the story, and the risk is somewhat mitigated by the fact that she was "dead" when the story began anyway. The third is even more risky IMO, as you're killing her off without even doing anything for the story. The second would be nice, but probably too easy.

I hadn't really considered your idea that Jenny might travel forward. At least one other 1999 girl--April (whom I wouldn't at all mind seeing more of)--has (if not all the way to 2019, at least far enough to see her nieces/Scarlett's daughters), so there's some precedent. Jenny's obviously very bright, so there'd be some reason for whatever shadowy forces are involved here to try to get her help. I kind of doubt we're going to play it that she's bright enough to have invented her own time machine, but I guess it's possible.

I was kind of wondering for the ending since Jenny knows we're time traveling now, but it's 90% likely that she will still be gone when we travel back to 2019 next episode, I think that the key to saving her is by taking action in 2019, not 1999. She tells us that “The meeting of two eternities, the past and the future… is precisely the present moment. You’re only alive at this moment in time. It’s important because it’s the only time when you have any power.” This might be the key to saving her, as it sounds like foreshadowing and the core thesis of this game, how will taking action in the present change something that's already been done in the past? No clue, but going off of what Jenny and the "Mystery Man" said, the present is what seems to be changing events of the story. Hence why this game's name is called "Ripples."
