I think the taboo is more about the relationship between a mother/parent figure and their son/child than about the blood/consanguinity. So if saying they are not blood related but clearly live like mother/son gets a pass from patreon then all good. Until when though?

I'm kinda indifferent to the incest kink, nothing against it but isn't something that makes me like a game more or less, with this said I think it's a bit of a shame that Riples lost it officially, I mean incest with time traveling could lead for some cool shenanigans, maybe cliché, but the possibility of MC being his own father, or even the father of his own mom would be only possible on a game with time travel, but oh well, even if this was on Jestur plans at the beginning it will be impossible or really hard to implement with a simple incest patch.

I agree that censorship is bad. And the credit card processors and by extension Patreon, Itch and Steam getting pressured into complying for no good reason is a crock of shit.

But also I had a chuckle at the phrase "family games" because in any other context it would mean... not what you mean by it.

I got a question and idk if anyone can answer it but why do we get choices if it doesn't matter anyway? like i choose not to do the lingerie shoot and MC still talks to darci about it like he did it... and there are more instances of that and i am just left wondering why give choices at all if it doesn't impact the story at all or the story just ignores your choices?

Are you sure that's not a bug? Maybe you should report it in his discord, I can't really tell because I always do it in my saves.

Since there's no (reasonable) reason to not do the lingerie shoot, your timeline has been pruned and replaced by the right path. This is just time correcting itself in order to protect the space-time continuum

There are no "Landladies" in this game, but even then we don't really look forward to any more forced rewrites if they push again for it, it's never for the better.

Yeah I know the original meaning of "landlady" which has become a meme these days in the AVN scene, I should have putted it in quotations marks in my original post as well.

What I meant is that there are no relationships between real or implied family members currently in Ripples.

Sure but who are the legal guardians of the MC? His parents vanished/died before he was 18 (or 16 if he asked for emancipation), so he has to have ones.

One day they could decide it's not allowed to have sex between members of the same household if the protagonists are not married.

Exactly what I was getting at with the 2nd half of the post, and im pretty sure (by paterons rules) that MC can not have been legally related (adopted included) to Jenny/Tiffany at ANY POINT. Logically after his dad died as a child his fathers family friend took him in illegally, enrolled in in schools and other things (such as medical) without providing ANY sort of legal documentation

But it totes makes sense shes not realted and their realationship holds up fine without the patch

Edit: honestly curious how people will spin this to try to agure that incest wasnt the initial intention without saying "no think because porn logic" to the same game where every update there are always people talking about "useless" (non sexual) animations that make the game feel more "real/lived in"

The payment processors are ruining so much artist freedoms, who cares if a random developer wants to make family content in their game

Pretty sure incest was the original intent, but contrary to most incest games on this site, this one makes sense and is well written without it, Tiffany isn't called landlady, Jess isn't roommate.
And as was said here before, the MC said to Jenny last update that Tiffany is like a mom to him.

No according to to Patreon she is not allowed to be adoptive parent either Not "left vauge" she objectively can not be. As far as their rules go her being his actual mother and an unrelated person who legally adopted them at any point are the exact same (in laws are fine tho)

Yeah I know it's the same for Patreon, that's why I said Jestur left those details vague, for leaving the player to make their own conclusions.
Are there people that think incest was never intended? I didn't play the game when it was released, but I think someone said the game had incest unpatched then, but I might be thinking about other game .

You cant "solve" it and have her still get scenes with the MC. So long as she get scenes it will have to remain a plothole in the story (the legal aspects of her raising a random kid).

I'm not disagreeing with you, as you said we both agreeing mostly, but I've been part of some of this discussions and what I've seen is people like me arguing that the game works without incest, and officially isn't a incest game, never saw anyone arguing that Jestur since the beginning neve intended for it to be an incest game.
Still not saying you're wrong, I've only started playing this game and following it after 0.7 been out for a while.

In the very beginning, the game tells us we were adopted by Tiffany. She's a kind person so it's entirely plausible she wouldn't let her good friend's child end up in an orphanage.
