go in the village in the east (anerint) and talk with the people here, then go to the village in the west (zerethin) and talk with the witness in the shop.
the plot never stopped, and "side girls" don't exist.

The most recent public release is the full capture of the Elven Kingdom, and there's a Patreon release after that. There's other stuff too, but those are better found during actual gameplay.
I thought 3.5 only tackles the first stages of that capture and the first stage corruption of the elf princess.
Without spoiling too much, the elves had been forced to put most of their eggs in one basket in Uxousin due to their limited military, and that doesn't go well for them.
Are you playing on the compressed, or normal version? Also, what system are you playing on?
Most want to look at the porn images/scenes without playing the game. You'll find these requests in almost every game's thread, whether or not the game has a gallery or scene viewer.
Playing the compressed version but I extracted it. I'm playing on windows. I believe that there were some corrupted files when I extracted it (Which kept appearing no matter how many times I downloaded it and from what site).
It sounds like at some point your save file got corrupted (if the problem is only happening with your existing save). If it's happening with any attempt at loading the game, then global.rpgsave or config.rpgsave might've corrupted instead.
So do I need to redownload the game? I did try that. But maybe I'll try downloading it and not transferring the saves
