I can't get the game to work. When it launches it stays at the main menu but the menu options are blank. I've never had a problem with unity games before and my pc specs are quite high. rothwf.jpg

You are being too harsh on the game. The devs are trying to tell a real story here. Are there not enough games with unrealistically powerful or lucky protagonists? Catherine has just graduated from the academy. She wants to be free from her master, but the latter still holds influence over her. Besides, there is freedom of choice. You can kill kobolds, for example, if you want to show that you are powerful. As for Eleanor being a traitor, try to romance her. She cares for Catherine a lot, but she trusts Kyo because she doesn’t know her yet.
Please, just give it time. There is a lot of character development going on.
I'd be fine with a reasonably powerful protagonist if Eleanor doesn't just pop in as what is effectively a mythical demigod who's better at literally everything that makes Catherine noteworthy with the addition of being incredibly skilled martially. And killing the kobolds does not show any power (or anything else for that matter). As for freedom of choice, that solely applies to the first half before the "training" attempt. After that, there was (to my frustrated and annoyed memory) a grand total of two choices, the first of which is overrulled before you are kidnapped and the other which is a choice of sex scene. There is no reason for Eleanor to immediately trust Kyo, especially when she supposedly cares at fucking all about Catherine who (until she is literally shoved off-screen and ignored) repeatedly says how much of a cunt she is. I really hope there is an option to leave Eleanor (or at absolute minimum tell her what she is doing), but unless it is added into Chaper 1 it will be far later than it should have been.

I am well aware how vicious/cruel/harsh I am being. This type of shit (being powerless, overshadowed, unable to even attempt to retaliates) is a massive fucking deal to me due to various personal issues. I cannot express through language how much emotion it causes.
If I simply hated the game, I would have erased its existence from my computer, ignored its thread, and moved on. I commented because I really want to like this, and want it to change so I can (not that I expect anyone to give a fuck about some whinging bitch here). I would still feel absolutely nothing but spite and loathing towards Kyo, but I would at least be willing to actually read that second half if Catherine could do anything at all during it (and if Eleanor didn't become the main character, which only increases the Mary Sue-like vibes I got from that section).

Mary Sue vibes? If you would call a good teamwork a Mary Sue -like vibes, or even the parts where Catherine have to do things on her own, well it seems we play a different kind of games.

I may seem a bit harsh but your personal experiences should not dictate how you react to a fictional character. If you had bad personal experiences fair enough but it gives you no right to insult and openly smash on a game and their developer due to it, you can hate a character but just because you do so and cant describe the emotions you feel about them that does not give you a right to be harsh or cruel and push your emotions onto others. Its a bit silly i must say so myself and remember this is quite literally a site where you can get porn games, comics, pin ups etc etc. Criticism is good and is welcomed by majority of game devs but not screaming and ranting about it. Thats my personal opinion anyway. I do not wish to carry this on so enjoy the rest of your day

I'm sorry you feel that way. But, I stand by my story. I've no intention of making Eleanor the main character or of diminishing Catherine's role and taking away the player agency. But, Catherine is not the be-all, end-all of the world, she is just another part of it. The story I'm trying to tell is one of friendship and cooperation in order to achieve great heights, and through it all Catherine will be ascendant at some point, but everyone has to start somewhere.

As for Eleanor being greater than Catherine in magic, Kyo said that, and I think we had already established that Kyo is an abusive Master that takes every opportunity to berate and diminish Catherine. So ask yourself if that is really the whole truth. And still, right or wrong, Eleanor's actions in the last few scenes were done because she truly believes that Kyo actually cares about Catherine and is worried about her future.

As for having little choices in the last few scenes, yes I agree. That is on me, but I have strived to add more agency into chapter 2, I still want to get more choices in but sometimes it's hard to balance writing all the options I want with the huge amount of work that it all demands. Still, I hope you give chapter 2 a go, and hopefully, it changes your mind about the game.

About my experience with the game. I've played a first chapter and decided to reserve my judgment and see how things goes. And what can i say, i was pleasantly surprised. Despite being in its early stages, game already have a good art, solid plot, likeable characters (no Jean, not you), a lot of kinks to appeal and promise of lot more to come. I can see, that game aims to be an ambitious project, and truly hope, that authors will find support and won't lose the spark.

I'm referring to the sorcerer bit combined with matrial prowess. Not saying it she is one by any means, but she has the same feeling as one to me.

No Eleanor can eat shit she literally kidnapped you for her own selfish reasons even if you are very nice to her I'd kill her if it was an option. Not knowing Kyo is not an excuse for anything Eleanor did in fact being told to kidnap someone should immediately give away the type person Kyo is no excuses for Eleanor but hating Eleanor doesn't mean the game is bad it just means I'll skullfuck her to death if I can.

May i ask though, considering you added stats, do you have plans on adding some kind of combat in the future (turn based i presume). And while sex stuff is important, does this plot will force Catherine to choose her love interest, or harem is an option if the cards played right? If you cant answer any of this questions, no problem. I enjoyed the game, and hope that sooner or later (sooner i hope) i support it with ducats)).

It was already explained by author, and give benefit of doubt. It is too early to judge this. From what i saw so far, Mary Sue vibes are the least thing there.

Hmmm, that is caused by the game not finding the asset that it needs to load, no one complained about that and I just downloaded the file that was uploaded here and it works for me. Have you perhaps moved the files from the folder? Check if you extracted everything correctly too.

I can't get the game to work. When it launches it stays at the main menu but the menu options are blank. I've never had a problem with unity games before and my pc specs are quite high. View attachment 679926
Try running the game as administrator, that freeze is because the game can't access the save location.

anyone got the changelog for the 0.2?
Well, I was planning on uploading the game here on Friday with a few extra scenes and more polish, but someone beat me to it, Was going to wait till Friday still. But, I guess I can add the changelogs any way.

We have a few systems planned, we are actually finding a bit hard to add all the systems we want while keeping the story moving at a good pace, but we will continue to do our best. We don't have a combat system planned, I like to write fight scenes to much, it is something we can consider adding at some point but we have no plans now. What we have planned, but are still figuring out how exactly it will work, is an adventuring system.

We have gone over it in the past and we will go over it more when we have it more figured out, so I'll be brief. Basically the idea is to be able to send small teams to deal with various quests, think games like, No Haven, and Kingmaker. These quests will require skill checks, hence the stats, and could result in the people that are doing them becoming wounded and put out of commission for a long while. As these quests are done, however, they will reward the player with money, resources, and items. That's the basic gist of it, nothing is final yet though, we are still in the planning phases for this system.

Eleanor did not kidnap anyone. She just asked Catherine to come with her. Cath could‘ve refused, but would they be friends after that? Besides, imagine yourself in a similar situation. You discover that you have magic powers. Kyo is your only available teacher of great renown. She tells you that bringing Cath to her is your only chance to continue learning magic. Wouldn’t you at least try to convince Cath?

I mean. If you refuse to go, she totally kidnaps Catherine. I thought it was funny, but I can see now that I should have probably given it a bit more thought. I'll be more careful in the future.

Thanks for your answer, that cleared things a bit. Nice idea with fight scenes though, reminded me Pillars of Eternity scenes.

Kidnapping Catherine still kinda valid if Eleonor was treated badly by her (though to be fair, i haven't checked rude responses to her and the outcomes).
