I'm sorry but it just seems like no one is holding oni accountable for this stuff. If this were any other dev and any other game everyone would be on strike and upset that the girls are just zombies with little to no unique game play
I mean I think part of it's because Oni kinda hit the holy grail here in terms of porn games.
It's not a DAZ rehash of similar models we've seen in a million other games by now, story is different and unique (not an incest game where you've lost your father and live with hotty mom and sisters), it's unique art - there's nothing really comparable to it that's popular in a sense besides maybe Four Elements Trainer (talking about similar colors, art style, cartoon feel, etc), no other X-men game that competes with it, has no real drama or divisive genre in it (aka ntr, voyeurism, etc), and overall it's a competent fairly decent game (one of my personal favs). Plus he (Oni) interacts with his patrons on a semi-regular basis and gets their input to a degree which people like I guess.
So naturally people will flock to it and pledge (the guy's got over 3,500 patrons) and since his levels are kind of low ($1/month gets you the game with no delay), $12/year is enticing.
I do agree and have complained probably a bit too much too that his frustratingly slow pace is a major buzzkill. That and the fact if he'd hire/seek out a semi-competent coder he'd ease half of his problems and free up a shit ton of time to work on the art/overall game/pace of the game.
But until patrons do something about (aka have a mass exodus and quit pledging or raise such a fuss about it that Oni has to take notice) I'm guessing he thinks there's nothing wrong with what he's been doing so far and it's just business as usual.
