I'd argue beauty in the eye of the beholder is wrong as it means any standard can be touted as "beauty" which means standards for beauty doesn't exist.
Without standards for what is or isn't something like say art we get stuff like elephant dung being sold for millions of dollars because it was in the shape of saint maria or whoever she was or piss in a jar with a dolls head in it calling it art.
