I just asked you, “in the wall of text” why you write the same thing for several years, every time you are surprised that the author makes the release for exactly 4 months and regularly write about the author’s incredible income of 1 dollar per month.
I wrote 1 time, you wrote several times. But you did not answer the questions.
I can answer yours. I do not want to spend my time on a pirated site, reading posts that are not related to the game and will not affect the work of author. My post is only half dedicated to you. In this topic there are several users who raised the same topic as you (about payments to the author). Accordingly, if you add up your posts and posts similar to yours, a decent number of posts will be typed. And their number will far exceed my "wall of text"
In addition, you yourself wrote that you are annoyed by the discussion of the work of archivers and other identical questions, and that is why I turned to you.
I am for the topic to be discussed only the game. And not who pays how much, how the computer works and other nonsense not related to the game. All that does not concern the game is spam, including your posts about 1 dollar, and my posts on this subject.
I made memes instead of a "wall of text" (as in this case) and, again, in response to several meaningless posts. (To express an opinion, you can write text in a post, or you can make a meme, where part of the text will replace the image)
Also, as I said earlier, I can remove all my memes from this topic and not do them in the future. And I already deleted some of the memes and messages (at least 40 of my posts) in order to remove spam.
And if I need to delete all my posts, then this will be rightly only if such posts are deleted others.

Why in the topic, to write the same thing not related to the game and aimed at those who are not in this topic? When this is written several times sometimes by the same user, for example, I have a desire to ask him once about the logic of such posts.

As to what you were saying - shitposting had always been and will always be a problem, if you want to see it as a problem - as long as there is a crowd surrounding any project, whether it's a porn game, a recipe cookbook, an art project, a tech YT channel or anything else - there will always be shitposters. People like that will not provide any constructive criticism, will never point out your mistakes, they are not interested in that - they only thing that they want is to tell that you suck. There probably is a reason for this, because such behavior is old as the first creator, but I don't know it - what I know is that if you are trying to do something and your work is accessible to a large enough audience - you'll face such people and will have to deal with them. And there are two ways that you can:
You can ignore them - the problem is that you still need criticism in order to be better and if you are not listeting to any feedback, you are not listening to good feedback, which you, as a creator, require - in order to get around this you can work closely with a group of people, who will provide you with actual criticism - the problem with it is that this people can be biased and don't see things that are obvious to others, but it's still better then nothing.
The other way is to harshly moderate the resource you use to present your work to the public - if resource, like this one, do not have any repercussions for shitposting, then people who do that for fun or to vent some anger will appear - and then some other people will see that loudmouth idiots can get away with that behavior and will mimic it - and the number of shitposters will just rise with general population, polluting any discussion. You can assign moderators or moderate yourself and give timed or permanent mutes or bans - the notion, that meaningless and harmful behavior is punished, usually serves as a buffer to make shitposters go somewhere else. The problem with that approach is that you can, voluntarily or involuntarily, create an echo chamber, where people with valid criticism are afraid to speak, because they think they will be perceived as shitposters and banned.
So the point - I understand what you were saying, but to change this situation either Oni must have a control of this thread - which he doesn't have and won't have - or moderators on this website must be interested in changing this situation - which they don't, therefore this whole discussion is pointless - things won't change because nothing is done to change them. As to you trying to know the meaning behind actions of such people - it's pointless, they have none. So basically you can relax and memepost back, fight fire with fire, you won't win, but atleast it's fun.

True dat - Variety is the spice of life after all: Be it in female crumpet to enjoy, be it in opinion, be it in shitposting.
While I can personally disagree with an opinion voiced here, I can still enjoy some cringeworthy meme material and find valid points in a diverging opinion. If we all had the same attitude and kinks, life would be pretty stale after all.
I wouldn't go so far to say there is no meaning behind people voicing what they do in any of those threads actually: I'd reckon it's multi-faceted; Either rooted out of a general frustration, out of a divergence from what they'd hope it would turn out it be, unhappiness with development cycles or simply for something as petty as annoying someone else. As a rule of thumb, there is always reason in actions, even if we can't easily spot it or it is so miniscule that it's not worth mentioning in the first place.
Though that's just my explaination for how things turn out to go within those kinds of threads, when there's barely any update happening for whatever reason, people have less incentive to voice questions - as they've all been answered multiple times already - and thus frustration and questioning of the validity in the dev's behaviour start to crop up. Been there, done that. Just look at old pages on the Summertime Saga thread where people go nuts shortly (up to 1 week) before an update comes out and you hear them just vent it in there. Done it myself actually.
With that though, I'll however refrain from going on about something less to do with the actual game and would also ask that the thread should probably steer back towards the actual game, questions and the likes, away from philosophy and argumentation on a personal level, last thing I want to see is this thread getting locked or worse yet, nuked.
Oh boy, I'm not sure where this notion stems from: for a whole bunch of people, game development is not just a passion, but also a job, either part time or full time - especially if you are on a subscription site like Patreon and ask for monetary compensation - and I reckon Oni isn't much different here: Patreon money from game development can range from a small bit of extra change to a sizeable income to actually rely upon and life off of. If the numbers of patreons were to reduce for whatever reason (not completely disappear, mind you), the first instinct would be to see where the issues lie, how to improve the situation and keep at it, to not lose valuable income to actually see something that is more akin to a pet project come to life (He probably needs to eat and live somewhere after all) not to go with a full scorched earth approach and willingly nuke the income out of spite towards a part of the community. Oni probably has more leeway in that matter given that he is also an Artist that does commision work and thus has multiple sources of income, but I sure as hell wouldn't just drop it because of some dwindling numbers.
For anyone that bothered to read, did anyone say anything useful and game related in the last few posts?

Just from the first couple of rows I can tell you that you fail again: i wrote on monetization TWO times, both in a span of 2-3 months. Both times discussion was not atarted by me, I added my point of view/opi ion on the matter. But I guess "forum" is not a place to post opinions, right?

You are joking? Who will quit a 4 k salary of doing nothing in particaly. The lads who share the game here are great persons its not like Oni loses anything from pirasy. See the difrens, somethimes you must take actions to make an autor wake up.
He doesn't do nothing. He has worked on the same game for 5 years. I think if his patrons gave up he would be relieved so he can find something else to do. My point wasn't that Oni loses something. My point was that beggars can't choose.

There is no sense in to such a statement, if updates take 4 months to half a year with this number "x" from patreon's, with fewer participants it would probably take 1 year for each update.
I think the problem in question comes from Oni's moral part and the optimization of time spent.
As I said, 4 months of waiting for an update is ridiculous, especially for a game as good as this one.
Maybe the job is too tiresome, and if that's the case, maybe the best thing Oni could do would be to finish Jean's content right away and end the game to start another project from scratch or just do something else.

Ok, i can explain my point of view. Ofcourse, it is just my personal opinion, but when i buy a AAA game for 60$,it means i am paying for years of development on story, animations, modeling, scripting, ost etc etc. Hundreds of ppl involved for lots of time.
Then we have RogueLike. I am not saying its a bad game (obviously, since we are all still here), but one has to agree, it is as simple as abc. The positive side of this game is art, not the script or story. In the end it is a pretty basic flash game like one of those dating sims, just with a good artist behind the wheel.
Regarding payments. If i support something, i dont think it is right to do so ONLY when i benefit from it (like subbing only during months of updates). Obviously i want to show the product creator that his product is valued. Therefore, if there is (and im sure that there muat be) a patreon, who subbed to him since the beginning, then even by paying 1$ he already spent 60 in total. Price of AAA title. Considering the time it takes Oni to update, and lack of communication from him, it seems wrong in my eyes, thats all.
Considering this is a forum, and i see people expressing similar opinions, i dont see anything wrong with adding mine alongside to the conversation.
And most importantly, if we stop messaging here the thread will slowly become too boring, cant let that happen xD
