Are there specific steps you have to take, to get laura to show up saying she wants to have lots of sex? I remember it happening in old playthroughs, but now that I'm replaying the game it doesn't seem to trigger that scene, and I can't tell why. I've replayed the same two days a couple of times now, and I can't tell if I should spend more or less time with her to make that happen.

You just need to get to a certain threshols in inhibition points.

It is 500 Inhibition and you can't have already had sex because that seems to override the event. You have to be manually moving between places for the event to trigger. I know it still works I triggered it on 1.62h.

500 inhib isn't hard to get with Laura. Give her the right compliments, the porn book & so a lot of her grope/her groping you actions you get 20-30 per action you commit once ofc.

The "petname" events are basically the same for all girls with different lines and slightly adjusted requirements for Jean with her weird inhibition value.
Jean's _BF event is basically her sexfriend one, while her _Love is the typical boyfriend event.

It's possible that other events can delay these, so it can take a while until they finally trigger for each girl.

A very special Laura event is the Gwentro if you haven't met Gwen yet by most likely ignoring Gwen in the broom closet.
During a BJ/CUN event with Laura, Gwen will stumble into the same room where MC and Laura having currently fun:
Gwen: "Where is the exit to this place?!"
...

Joking aside, nope. You have to grind (massage and stuff) like with every other girl.

Kitty is indeed tiresome at beginning as you don't get many points during her first meeting.
To generally unlock the sex menu options, you need LI600+ or OI400+.
Gifting her at least the Avenger magazine is definitely a good investment as long as you don't want to rely on a certain exploit.
Complimenting her eyes works best for her if it is available next to the danger room one which generally works very well for everyone too.
Touching someone's cheek can also help boosting the addiction rate without annoying too much, so triggering the addiction event can further help earning additional points for everyone at beginning.
If you follow her to class and the danger room, she sometimes invites you afterwards to her room where you can also study with her for another lil boost.
When Laura returns after her first meeting in the danger room, there are also a few points to gain if you give Kitty 10 bucks to gift Laura something. I'd still wait visiting her room where the dressup event with Laura is as you get kicked out if you don't have at least LOI1000+.
Whatever, it's still a lot of compliment work with her and Jean until you can finally (auto) massage to bring the point ball rolling.

Well all other girls have at least 1 random,or not so random,event that brings a lot of points very early.

This game is an A+ dating sim, it is almost everything I would ever wanted. I just wish there's also an overall narrative to persue and another male characters roaming around and creating their own relationship to make the world more organic.

If you want something like RLE with morenarrative, then try the null hypothesis, since Oni's aim with RLE is being a sandbox where you mess around with the girls.
