If what I understand is correct from one of the reviews, does the game basically follow an MC for a bit and then go nope, this other guy is the MC.

I think you may place too much importance on it being NTR being an issue, I enjoy the cheating fetish but there's a fine balance you need to strike between the thrill of cheating and just being mean to the other guy and I could see how starting as the other guy could veer it in that direction. I think cheating works best when the other guy is oblivious and not too heavily developed.

Its not much different than when in a video game where killing people is fun and then you start to feel bad if you glimpse their backstories.
