Ren'Py - Completed - Room for Rent [v16 beta] [CeLaVie Group]

The game requires way too much grinding with very little variance. Often you find yourself grinding for a good 10 minutes before you are presented with one new image. The renders are ok and there are no animations.

This kind of Ren'py sandbox game isn't new and isn't so good as it is, i feel like it should be improved upon, as it was already.

- Grindy
- Searching for H-scenes is like trying to find a needle in a haystack
- When you find one, it's underwhelming
- How to make a H-game without trying very hard
- No improvement that has been made over the years to the genre won't show up here

It's just a waste of time, play it only if you like low content grindfest or like the models so much you can endure hell.

Fantastic game... didn't really know what I expected, but not this..

It's like you've taken in someone cute as hell. down on their luck. naive as fuck.. and get to play a mind game with them until they slowly fall for you.

And what do you care? your old.. might as well have some fun...

Terrible grinder, to the point where saves are disabled and making "incorrect" choice quits to desktop, mind boggling, not sure what else is there to say, renders aren't too pretty either as lighting seems so flat

Realy good game! Not too fast, not too slow to make some progress. The girls are very beautyfull, the renders are nice. But a little walktrought in the game couldt make it even better. sry for my bad english

This quickly became one of my top favorites as im very much into teasing and not so much into instant random sex games. So basically:

Try this game if you're into:
- teasing
- slow sexual awakening/corruption
- gradual increase of sexiness/nudity
- cute teen female characters
- old on young kink

Pass if you:
- want instant easy to get sex scenes
- look for a complex dramatic storyline
- hate having to work/grind to unlock scenes/content
- hate the fact you can only save in the beginning of a new day (but you can always just roll back via mouse wheel if you make an obviously bad decision, just do it fast before you get the game over and thus have to load)

Expect to be stuck if you're playing without playthrough, especially in the beginning. I got stuck myself more than a few times, mostly in the earlier parts of the game before i realised how it works and that many scenes only occure during the weekend , and that you need to repeat certain scenes in order to progress. After i had that sorted i breezed through the rest of the content without any major hiccups.

The author is not a native english speaker and it shows a lot. Never been much of a problem for me (not a native speaker myself), just be warned.

I personally loved to watch the cute teen characters grow from very shy to total exhibitionists (and probably slut....ermmm, open-minded ladies in the upcomming updates?), hands down 5 stars from me.

I don't usually rate games and am not a supporter of any game. The reason for a 3 is primarily because I really like concept of slowly seducing the main NPC and potential for others. I also think the renders are very good although somewhat flat. I have played it from the beginning but ended up using a WT to complete all events through v 4.0. I am attempting to play v 5.0 without a WT and am finding that I have a better understanding of how to do that. What keeps this from being a 4 or 5 is the amount of grind involved to get from one event to another. Once you understand that the events are not really events but a cumulative counter of the events plus finding all the new pics associated with all events, which seems to be standard for most of the games here on F95, except with this game it actually keeps track of and shows you how many of the actual events with all of the new renders associated with those events to come up with, in v 5.0, a score of 100/100, it helps make the grind bearable. I do recommend this game with or without a WT although I think best to use a WT through v 4.0.

This game is hard to rate. The concept and the artwork are good. Its a nice change from the games where all the girls are instantly easy. So that is the good part. Now for the bad this game is needlessly grindy and with out a walkthrough its damn near unplayable. This game has great potential if it had a more clear cut path. The hints are pointless and only tell you what action needs to happen next but gives you no idea how to get there. How many times do you have to repeat the same thing over and over to make progress. In my opinion this is just to make the game feel like it has more content than it really does. I would rather the game be a little shorter and not have to replay a action 10 times just to progress.
That all being said I still like the game.... with a walkthrough. This has potential to be very good if the progress is a little more focused.

I'll give it 3 stars because of the potential this game has got. But in its current state it's a grind fest like no other. The hints the game provides in order to progress are pretty much useless. Really you've got to play several hours and almost nothing happens apart from a little bit of skin flashing here and there or a touch on the ass. That's not what I expect of an adult game. The amount of grind in order to progress is insane and you've got to wait for some special events to trigger, which might take hours. This game clearly needs some rebalancing, a lot more clues on what scene is actually missing in order to be able to finally progress and much more naughty content in order ot be enjoyable. Even later on when 5.0 starts, the tiny progression concerning oral sex advances so slowly, that it's not enjoyable at all.

Love the theme of the game, very innocent girls, nothing too crazy going on. It's nice not having massive whores that will screw anything and everything no matter the species.

The theme and the look of the girls is where I'd say it shines, "Gameplay" wise it's frustrating without a guide, there really aren't much for hints. That being said though, it's not much of a grind either as long as you have a guide and not being a grind is very good.

The animations really aren't. But hey, it's more than most games. =P

Just wish the "sex scenes" could have been more graphical, I feel like they end too fast.

So, if anyone ever want to play a Santa that's lost a bit of weight and decided to empty his sack more than once a year inside a young girls room you've come to the right place.

Probably sharing that space with a bunch of FBI agents and Chris Hansen.

I know some people like playing the creepy old bastard and some like really young looking girls so i'm sure it will find a player base but some times things are a bit too creepy and the girls look a bit too young for it to be anything but weird for me.

I'm not saying the girls look like loli's with petite builds, i'm saying they look straight up like kids.

On top of the super creepy vibes this gives off it's insanely grindy. It's like someone played all the sandbox games and thought "you know what, they just aren't grindy enough".

So, if underweight Santa, naked kids and grinding ... both game wise and on naked kids ... is your thing then you'll love this. If it's not you probably won't.

Blows my mind that anyone can find this level of grinding enjoyable. To me it destroys all pacing, tension and sexiness. Watching the same scenes and dialogue 347 times so you can get the next tiny little bit more progression with the girl is just painful and made me more angry than turned on.
Shame because the premise I love and the girl is great too.
With some sort of walkthrough mod or cheats this could become enjoyable but for now this is a hard pass from me.

I dont know... I liked the first versions but the further it goes, the more boring it becames...
Dialogues were never great but lately dialogues been reduced to few words, it cant even be called sentences most of the time. lots of "i better leave." or " i see." or " thanks, i will." like some kind of robot is speaking...
Also, the scenes when the main girl became sick and PC starts to relieve her stress, he sometimes takes her to pool or bathroom but the developer didnt even care about creating new scenes for it or atleast editing previous ones, he just copypasted the scene you regularly see every day in these locations with the same text so you go to visit her in your bedroom, then the PC says "i can take her to the pool" and the next scene starts with PC saying "hi.can i join you?", like ... thats kind of lame.
and the content seems fall down aswell, you spend 2 whole versions just to train her with blowjobs and then she basically says to PC "fuck me." (in the bedroom), like ... its doesnt make sense at all. you spend 4 versions corrupting one girl, then 2 version corrupting 2nd girl and boom, here comes another girl in the new version so you can go all over again with her... the game simply lacks ideas and more detailed work.
sometimes, when you wake up, and the games gives you ideas on where to go next, it doesnt specify which girls is it related to or sometimes it doesnt make sense, for ex. when it tells you "she is doing yoga at 11 by the pool." , idk man but at 11 clock the girls are at school. of course it was talking about the weekend but its making player checking the pool at 11 because "what if...."
the girls are still nice though and the fact that they move around the house naked is great aswell but thats about it

I'm sorry but I have to be brutally honest, reading other reviewers of this game, I got to thinking to myself are we even playing the same game?

Yes, I'm all for story driven games. I enjoy the tease and seduction part. What can I say, I'm a hopeless romantic.

Reading the developers notes, compelled me to ask the question to myself, if they spent 2 years developing this game where did they invest that time? It certainly wasn't spent, developing an in depth story or inovative game mechanics. To state that it's a "state of the art" adult game is very misleading. At best its a very rudimentary.

Story - There is no real in-depth story, as I would class it, you ask the girl a few questions to get her backstory

Gameplay - Grindy and repeative, with very little in the way of pointers to further your progression, yes you can get tips from the office & master bedroom but only at certain times, only one save per day @ midnight.

Graphics - High resolution a plus, but way too bright, for my liking, they almost feel sanitised. The developer also made a statement about no incest in their games, but like someother reviewer mentioned, the girls don't look like a day over 15 which then brings into question an other taboo scenario!

I would like to encourage other gamers to discover this particular and significant different kind of "adult game". In this story, all characters are showing us all states of minds like in real life: envy, shyness, desire, humor, perversion, charity and generosity.
That said, you can easily find some personal experiences in those characters similar for everyone of us. Of course, we all think about sex playing this game but original story goes not too fast, not straight to sex ... Hopefully for suspense and surprises.
I also agree with "Dutchpete" saying that this game is not made with highly realistic 3D and fluid movements like in XXX videos, but really, who cares comparatively to his very original point of view in world of adult games.
And little animations with most of dialogs sentences are made with beautiful and well designed high-resolution pictures (some gifts of them are given to the Gold Members as generous donators on Patreon ).
In the other hand, the web is plenty of poor stories sex animations for those in seach of, so I don't care and "Room for rent" passionate creators as well.
One thing is sure, I truly recommend this game for his high potential of development in future releases. So to give some chance and a little money for it is valuable.
Finally, I would like to share with all of you, readers, the pleasure to have here an original, maybe never seen before, game which is made by passionate creators on Patreon and whose story and characters can reveal much, much more interesting situations for our pleasure and entertainment.

Finally a great game that is not about a young boy with bla bla bla. It's about an old pervert who is not a bad person, but a nice and polite old pervert. So it's a MC many of us can identify with. I think that not everybody on this forum is a 18 to 20 year old schoolboy or something like that. The artwork is very, very nice, the story is really captivating and there is a sense of humor. Who wouldn't want to corrupt some really naive college girls in their "Golden Years"? You will even see the MC breaking the 4th wall several times during the gameplay. Nice and funny. The story progresses slowly but certainly with small steps so do not expect full intercourse from day one. Better watch Porn for that. The models are also new and not seen before in other games. There is grinding to progress alas but not as bad as in Big Brother etc. The developer is very active with his Patrons. Spoilers, hints and active help will be your reward for giving him a couple of bucks.

If people ask me if they should play this game.... I'll suggest a good ol hammer to thr balls... less painfull and more pleaant, sorry dev. I have not been paid to give it a five stars and played enough good games to know when one is a giant ple of stink...
1) how the hell is this even on patreon when the main gir looks 13 at beast... ok 14 if you're a creeper that likes prepubescent girls... and didn't I see her hair somwhere?
2) the art is so bright, you'll need a guide dog and a white cane to walk aroud.
3) you can only save once per day, in the meanwhile accessing the menu is disabled... good luck if you need a break... it wouldn't be so bad if the dev did not try to animate every movement by adding still renders with poorly timed transition. it would've looked good in 2015.... B.C., but now the standards for in game animations are beyond that,
4) there's a false illusion of choices, as when I tried to kick out the girl, the MC got angry at me and I was presented with the "good choice", ok! I thought, so this is that kind of game. but when I decided to peep at the girl I got a game over... that's inconsistent....
5) too much exposition that doesn't bring nothing to the table except increase the movement count.

This is the absolute worst.

The synopsis is that you're a 100 yo retired doctor who lives in his luxurious penthouse. An 18 yo dangerously loli-looking LI needs a place to stay because her step-father kicked her out.

The disclaimer intro says that don't be a pervert or you will fail in the game. Fine, but when the LI arrives the MC starts groping her after around two renders, he buys sexy nightwear for the LI the first day, and raises the heat in the flat in order to get her to wear it. Is that creepy or not?

And that's just the start. The MC does everything he can to be as creepy as possible, and the only way to pass time except showering or napping is to look at lolis on his computer.

The game's dialogue and most events are ridiculous and makes little sense, it's hastily written with a fair amount of engrish.
The game is horribly grindy, unintuitive how to proceed, and while rollbacks are as of 0.3 enabled, you still cannot save but once a day when you go to sleep. This makes no sense whatsoever.

The first two nude scenes you will see are the MC getting undressed, and despite an early nude scene of the LI in 0.3 was added, the aim of the game is that you have to grind week after week in order for the LI eventually being worn out by your creepiness and submit.

The renders are quite good, I'll give the dev that, but most of them are just adding to the grind, and are repetitive and redundant.

Everything else in this game sucks. Gameplay, story, synopsis, characters, dialogue... everything. If you're not immediately in love with the MC or the LI I recommend that you avoid this game. There's no reward in playing this.

The only reward I got is a reminder that I can't allow myself to become such a creep in 50 years when I will look like the MC.

I would give Room For Rent zero stars of five it if was possible.

edit: TL; DR: I think this game is if I would attempt to make a space rocket. I mean, I know the basics how it kinda works, but I'm not that good on physics and aerodynamics. I still try, but pretty much everything fails. Room For Rent does the same.

Rating lowered to 1 star for how the "dev team" handle release and basically force the player to subscribe to the 50 USD tier to have hints and help.
Also, the basic subscription start at 5 USD, there are plenty of much more better game (better CG, better gameplay etc ) that are either free or start at 1 USD.

Furthermore, the dev note stating (see below) is ridiculous, the CG are average and to get the 4000 *2280 pics you must give them 50 USD, they are NOT provided in their public version which is far far behind the 50 USD patron version.

This game is close to be a milking scam.

Nice concept, the MC is an old man with human size dick for a change and the art is ok.
What kills it, at least for me, is the insane grind. I don't mind some grind but here it's just too much. For those who know EverQuest, it's like a hell level but worst.
Also as far as v3.0 goes, there is no sexual content, just flashing boobs, teasing.
As pointed by the review above mine, the game is unintuitive how to proceed.

Edit after (trying ) playing V3.0a : I was able to progress further in the game ( the previous V3.0 was glitched ) but again it seems that this version is also glitched ( but maybe it's me ).
Another thing, the Amy Locator available in the OP is a must, without it the game is a nightmare.
