Each Illusion game is a recuperation of what has been done before, and yet so far it is far from the recuperation that KISS or TeaTime did.
RoomGirl's progress must be seen in the context of a studio, so every asset must serve
With Room Girl we have new graphic standards, on the quality of the scenery, the management of lighting, the texture of the flesh and the clothes.
But we also feel that the more the performances evolve, the more it is difficult to start on new bases, the chara of AI girl and Koikatsu have remained unchanged for a long time now, before on the Illusion productions the style of chara varied a lot from one title to another.
There is another addition that seems to be insignificant but that I appreciate, it is to associate by default a haircut to an outfit.
As far as the game mechanics are concerned, as strange as it may sound, I would say that there is a part of success. Indeed, no one seems to complain about the fact that you don't control the character anymore, but that you simply associate them to the locations.
This is an important point, because until now free-roaming has always had a somewhat amateurish appearance revealing more technical shortcomings rather than bringing additional possibilities, the mourning of this design could even have been done with the disastrous SB premium.
So maybe we can imagine in the future that the HS franchise will be by Room Girl, still with a small game mechanic like the one developed for this game.
