I don't know what people were expecting. This game is obviously aping off a bioware game, it would be more surprising if they didn't give their fans the middle finger in the end.

alright so we all know it's busted and the revamped art is mostly trash but has anyone seen new scenes/characters/places yet? how are those?
I get the AI debates but I'm going to be honest, its not like this the next Zelda game. Its a porn game made in RPG maker that I use for maybe an hour at a time. Most of the scenes they replaced were ones I didn't like and I prefer the new ones. I understand the fear of actual artists and creators being pushed out (its a big fear in the comics industry) but this is not the work where I'm plan on drawing the line.
I get the point of artistic integrity but this is a fantasy porn game that is full of cliches and odd erotic scenarios. It can be hard to find an artist who wants to draw a character getting railed by some mythological beast.
I'm fine with some cheap and sloppy "fast-food art" that uses tricks to appear at higher quality that it really is. I enjoy a blue steak but I also enjoy a greasy, sleazy, hamburger. I would like an erotic game that has massive production values and depth but I don't expect or really want from a small dev team that is doing this as largly a hobby in between their "real jobs".
The gallery on the other really does needs to be fixed to be usable

Yeah fr. Sad i wont be able to see that for awhile since half of it is end game & I dont have save files anymore. Was really looking forward to the new druid companion, till the whole art replacement & bugginess ruined any excitement i had for the game finally being "complete." Anyone know what new thief scenes were added?

Ok, I've been browsing through the picture folder and this shit is absolutely hilarious. The dev couldn't be assed to do simple things like have someone draw cum spurts, so instead you get ai art composited whenever there is a variant. Watch the amazing horse fucking woman, she grows a hand out her vagina when she cums!

yeah I mean I could stomach the AI stuff (until it hits something I care about I suppose) but I'm more interested in the new stuff. if that stuff isn't worth it I'll just go back to 5.8 since I've been putting off a "complete" run since like 3.4

Imagine actually spending time, however little that was, to make your game that much fucking worse for absolutely no reason. I seriously doubt there was a crowd of people demanding those 3+ year old cgs to be "remastered".

There is some good journalism that is done competently by humans, for example. Many porn games are not. I am just warning about the looming issues. The coming AI storm on creative industries will only become stronger.
Push back how? You'll need government support across a broad forum of countries, which is probably not going to happen. You not playing this game or arguing about how much you hate the AI generated images here isn't going to do shit. I think the best way to get rid of AI images, scripts, etc is to engage with your local leadership and cut it off at the knees. Call me a pessimist, but I don't think it will work.
What a retarded take, holy fuck.
1. The AI art makes the scenes just far less hot. There's nothing hot about an expressionless doll being railed while their bodyparts seem to be either growing additional fingers, melting into the scenery or just generally looking so off it pulls you out.
2. Even if you don't care about the artistic integrity that doesn't change the fact that the artists put in a fuck ton of time and effort so you can jack off for 10 minutes and it's really fucking insulting to them to replace them with a machine that works by stealing millions of copyrighted images.
3. These motherfuckers are literally making 10k every single month on patreon alone. It's a spit in the face of their players to cut costs like this, especially when they absolutely have the means to pay humans to do it instead.
I wonder how much it would take to pay someone to redraw all the scenes so they have some consistency of quality.

Goddamn it all, I wanted was bug fixes, That was my main issue with this game, like at one point there is a character who tries to commit suicide you are supposed to be able to save but the pathing is messed up, I wonder if that's even fixed

I'm with you on the pessimism, this shit will be pushed for by anybody that wants to cut corners to make a product instead of anything of actual value and like I said, meaningful pushback won't happen on a porn game forum. But thankfully for instance the US has already ruled that AI art cannot be copyrighted so in the mainstream we're going somewhat in the right direction at least. People need to be vocal and publically disprove of this shit.

Internet is full of such artists and their art, to be honest.
Also, the issue isn't the AI stuff itself specifically. Its that replaced some of the better or okay scenes as well. And, of course, that it has objective troubles with quality. Scroll the thread up a bit and you will see absolutely horrendous tentacle AI scene that has glaring mistakes. Its not just a question of preference, its a question of quality.
As for the size of the dev team - they had financial support to hire actual artists. In the light of this fact it gets extremely hard to justify them on any level.
Especially because we are not talking new art - I could've somewhat understood if they'd corners there. We are talking already existing art that in some cases was better or simply not worse than the replacement. Meaning they spent their time and effort, as little as it was considering the AI generation, to improve little to nothing, if not make things worse.
Such actions reek not of small dev team but of greedy, lazy or uncaring dev team that couldn't bother to do their job. That was paid for!
I wouldn't raise the alarm if we were talking some small project made by newbie. If someone wanted to make game ASAP and had no time or money to bother with hiring artists, I can get behind the decision to use AI. As a stop-gap, hopefully (cause at this point AI art kinda sucks still), but better make the game than languish in wait. Besides, if writing of game mechanics were good, it could compensate for lacking artwork.
But Roundscape is not small and it has financial backing from many patrons, not to mention they've had some 2 years to finalize their game. The money or time, or lack of experience shouldn't have been the issue so using AI would be justified.
They most likely had money and time, and definitely they had the experience needed. Yet they still cut corners like they were some unpaid newbie enthusiasts who couldn't wait to release their first game.
That doesn't feel right.

Whelp gonna have to replay this now I guess, though from the looks of it the devs just took all the art in game put it all through AI-re-rendering and then just put it back into the game without even looking at what the AI created
