Umm, actually, thats just the first part, which if i remembered correctly is pretty big, but after the main story fully picks up you are allowed to travel freely and make your own choices and stuff, but its understandable if you dont like it, i just remembered it being pretty good after just following the game around for quite some time, basically it has a huge ass intro is what i'm trying to say

Um, when you fight em while in the thief quest? well, maximize damage and focus on dodging instead of defense, worked for me i believe. Also, depends on your lvl maybe? though i dont think i grinded at all at that point.

Too linear for my taste. No control, no choice, you just manually spin the wheel to try and see a movie on the wall.

I've been spoiled rotten and 'kinetic' stories are just plain boring now.

jeez man, this is the best porn jrpg game. The floating corruption in this game is amazing.

Nope. Linear corruption. If not for being able to move around and fight stuff, it can qualify as a kinetic novel. Which is why it really is shit in this regard.
