Damn... the fact that this game has so much potential just to be abondoned by the developer.
That's how this dev is. He switched to another game and dropped it even faster then SR.Damn... the fact that this game has so much potential just to be abondoned by the developer.
Probably because he didn't get the return he expected from the new game. Who would have imagined that abandoning the previous game in a deplorable state and then announcing a new game wouldn't be well received by supporters and the community? That's how this dev is. Yeah, some people were insanely entitled in the Discord from what i heard. They don't realize artists like these can make enough money by just doing single art commissions on pixiv and posting art on fanbox/ci-en.Damn... the fact that this game has so much potential just to be abondoned by the developer.
I don't think it helped that the guy made multiple changes to the basic gameplay that weren't popular. It started as very similar to Karryn's Prison, with timed attacks and a rock paper scissors system. Then it changed to a deck builder system which wasn't popular. Then to a pretty shitty visual novel system. All of this with minimal actual progression to game content. If I was supporting them from the first version, I'd find the card game system fine, but switching to the VN system would just be a no to me.Yeah, some people were insanely entitled in the Discord from what i heard. When they're rude and these games with a lot of effort get abandoned everyone but the Artist loses.
I wasn't aware he moved on to another game. What was it?Probably because he didn't get the return he expected from the new game. Who would have imagined that abandoning the previous game in a deplorable state and then announcing a new game wouldn't be well received by supporters and the community?
IIRC it was only announced and abandoned before there was a release. I could be misremembering though.I wasn't aware he moved on to another game. What was it?
This one here:I wasn't aware he moved on to another game. What was it?
Jesus only a 0.1 release and then abandoned, that's crazy.
Yeah, its really a shame. I started following the game when it was basically Karryn's Prison with a musclegirl - when he switched to the weird card system, I thought it was a significant downgrade but I stuck with it (supporting on patreon) but then he turned it into a shitty VN and I dropped.I don't think it helped that the guy made multiple changes to the basic gameplay that weren't popular. It's the latter, and even when he stuck to original vision it too was in constant flux of changes and kinda lost direction once you reached the town hub at end of the demo.Certainly a game that suffers from the creator having an idea, but not being sure how to actually do it I imagine.
Karryn's Prison was popular when it came out, but maybe they just decided that system didn't flow well with their ideas or its just a pain to handle.
Or they could be someone who is easily influenced by things they liked. So they used Karryn's battle system because they liked it at the time, then found another system they liked, so they retooled everything to fit that... then changed their mind... and so on and so forth.
Which is a shame, as they seemed to have thought up a fairly different world setting, with some nice character designs. But it seems we'll never figure out what they had in mind, as either they just lost interest in it themselves, or the negative reactions to all the changes killed their interest in it. Or both.
Thats the fastest speedrun ive ever seen to abondoned the game i guess at this point the developer is kinda stealing the money or lowering the expectation from the patron users.Jesus only a 0.1 release and then abandoned, that's crazy.
people just forgot they sub to him and still didnt noticeThats the fastest speedrun ive ever seen to abondoned the game i guess at this point the developer is kinda stealing the money or lowering the expectation from the patron users.
I get the impression it was less about what the dev was into and moreso the dev was way in over his head. Like you'd think that with how insanely popular Karryn's Prison was there'd be tons of copycats, right? My guess is that there isn't that many because it's actually very labor intensive and time consuming to build a combat system like it. Realistically speaking, it isn't something a newbie gamedev with no experience can make in a few short years, even if he were to make it 1:1. But instead of doing that, he tried to give it the Dark Souls feel with none of the driving mechanics behind Karryn's Prison. People had been complaining about how jank balancing was and how hard it was to see the porn content. So he switches to a deckbuilder.Certainly a game that suffers from the creator having an idea, but not being sure how to actually do it I imagine.

To be fair, it takes abit of work to get Karryn willing to fuck even if going out of your way to do so (Jank aside where 100 lewd skills overrides her into full slut mode.)Speaking of the KP inspired combat, really the biggest issue with it is, from what we see, Saria isn't the kind to ever engage in using the sexual attacks herself.
That being said, I always felt that was the biggest flaw with KP using it at all either. Karryn, as a character introduced, isn't the type to do it.
But the mechanic exists because its something the players would want her to do.
I mean, that's what corruption mechanics are all about I suppose.
