I think I played through most of the v0.2 content, to see what the fuss is all about. I'd say yeah, this is kinda of a good one. Artstyle is appealing enough and the writing is solid overall with the hook for the corruption being decently believable, in a fantasy porn logic way. The slowburn, pacing and escalation are in a good sweetspot.

Only nitpicks I have: lacking sound department with only music (and poorly chosen ones at that) and no sounds in the scenes. The gameplay is neat in concept but can get slightly annoying and grindy, although that feels intentional.

This is clearly a winner, which begs the question: why the fuck did the dev not focus on this game for 3 years? I could see the dev getting tons of support (myself included), but seeing as they want to juggle 2 projects at the same time (100% L behavior everytime), then I'm out. Just seems like a waste of good potential is all.
Actually, they kind of did?
The dev has been dedicating all the time to pretty much building mods that do whatever they want for current and future features for the games (both games would share a big amount of the backend code), to the point of pretty much coding half an engine at this point.

This game has always been more of a side project to the other one, but over time it got promoted from a little side project to sharing the same amount of importance.

OIne thing to be aware, for most of the people that are going to start complaining about long times until next version: The dev has not only never made very solid and detailed roadmaps for the games, they've repeatedly stated they'll take whatever time they believe thay need to, and that they won't give solid roadmaps.

They work on these two games more as a passion project, on their spare time outside of their 9 to 5 and overal IRL concerns.
Also, most people that are actually giving them money, on Subscribestar and the like, have almost always voiced their preference for longer times between updates, instead of monthly flash-updates of an extra few minutes of gameplay (as seems to be the overall standard for non-dead games here at F95)

That, alongside an inevitable shift into porting all the work done here, into On Edge, and there's a good chance we won't see another big update for another long time.
After that, however, everything seems to imply we'll start getting more content updates on the regular (again, nothing set on stone)

It looks like this has got two releases in four years, you don't need a detailed roadmap to think that's ridiculously slow.

Damn. I was thinking about this game a month ago, wishing that we could see an update after so long. So many years of waiting.

If I knew it'd turn out like this I would've preferred to just keep wishing. Smegma-related content cut, barely any new content added, bugs out the wazoo. Wouldn't be surprised if only an hour or so of work per month went into this since the first release, and even that might be too generous. What a waste of potential. Not even going to bother downloading whatever updates, if any, come out for this in another 4 years.

Yea no matter how much people are trying to defend it I personally don't see it, it's been 3 years and 5 months I got a bachelor degree in that amount of time he finished a singular update. I'm not trying to be condescending I am just puzzled with that. And people are rightfully complaining if they invested their money (honestly also their fault but whatever) into this while it took forever to even get a single version.

That being said the concept of the game in general is fantastic and I am just hoping he keeps at it now and actually delivers but I have the feeling this might just have been a single sign of life to give the impression...

Used to pray for times like these. I can't believe it.

But i kinda liked the previous state of the thread, now there is too much to read. I guess i'll just wait till all the people get tired waiting for the next update and read the selective few that beef again.

I played it for the first time and I must say it's one of the best RPGM games I've seen. Putting some bugs and undeveloped features aside it's insanely well done in most aspects. Such a long development is unfortunate cuz game has some crazy potential that requires consistency. I really wish for this game to keep growing (in much faster rate than it did) and I also wish for daughter to return permanently.

The problem is.. whether it is really needed or worth the time spent on coding this when u can see similar japanese hentai rpg games having lots of scenes, corruption level, skill trees and gallery

The interface looks good, yes, but is it the core part of the game that worth spending lots of resources on it? Are there easier way to implement the features?

what if the game could be at corruption level 3 or 4 instead of level 1, if the dev created it like those japanese hentai games, using the original interface or plugins?

surely its the dev choice to code reusable features for his games, but this 4 years per update schedule has hurt his subscription.

Does anyone have a save file before the ending of corruption 1 or before the second bench scene that is not bugged because of the recollection room?

The thing is that one thing doesn't translate to the other.

As I said in my two posts, these years have been dedicated to implementing code, with the approval of most of the people paying the dev, so it obviously was worth it to somebody.

The premise behind all this work is that we're all expecting something more on the traditional dev schedule, where you front load a lot of dev work before you are adding the actual content, under the premise that once this work is done (now for this game, maybe some extra time for On Edge), we'll be having two games piling up content at a higher speed and quality than the usual game here in F95 (as, from now on, most of the work will be just writing the scenes and waiting for the artist to draw the art).

Will that happen? Who knows? We can talk about that as much as we want, everybody has the right to believe it will happen or not (with or without any proof behind it).

In the end (and this statement, if any, is just facts with no personal opinion), this is not a comercial project, but a passion one (meaning the dev doesn't care much for timelines or people wanting/liking the game), and most of the people that have ever paid the dev anything have time and time said that they are willing to wait for all these delays.

In the end, most of the people talking here (be it in favor, or against, the game) might just as well consider this project the same way they consider any game they don't know anything about until it's directly published on DLSite for sale: whatever they say is irrelevant, and the game will come out whenever it comes out, or it will be dropped and nobody will ever bother with it again, all based on whatever the dev decides, irrelevant of our conversations here. If they don't like that? That's their problem TBH.
