Well, I have tried everything, read through every page, checked registries, redownloaded, checked direct x, dll files etc. Usually I can figure these things out but I cannot get this game to open. Yes Japanese locale etc etc. Keep getting "The code execution cannot proceed because d3dx9_35.dll was not found. I have the d3dx9.dll file but not _35. It doesn't seem to be in the patches or translation or code files. Anyone have any ideas?

Edit - figured it out. _35 is from older versions of direct x. went to direct x downloads found the legacy packages and downloaded, fixed.

I've finished this game last year but today i decided to test if i can run it on my tablet using winlator. Managed to run the game,but the fps is really bad. But it doesn't matter as i just missed the sound of the bell from the game title screen with kaori just chilling

When I first started this project around early last year, I didn't expect it would take more than 1.5 years to complete it (I blame Elden Ring, Baldur's Gate 3 & Final Fantasy VII Rebirth ).

Since this is my first translation project, I'm quite happy with its final state, but of course YMMV. More than anything, I just hope that more people will get to enjoy one of the best works from Dontei Menkai & Elf.

Regarding my next project, I'm a big fan of Dontei Menkai and VENUS, so it will likely be either:

• You must be registered to see the links
  (I don't like this work as much as Biniku no Kaori)
• You must be registered to see the links
  (I think this is the best work from VENUS)

But for now, I will just enjoy the upcoming Elden Ring DLC first.

I have this problem with animations. Apparently, the game engine doesn’t have a built-in decoder and uses the system’s DirectShow filters.
This is what works for me:

1.Download K-Lite Codec Pack with Codec Tweak Tool (standart, full,

2. Open Codec Tweak Tool

For anyone who needs additional help running this on a Steam Deck, make sure to install DirectX3d 9.0 since the game uses 3d assets.
