His last tweet (reply) is from two weeks ago (March 17th) so I'm pretty sure he's at least alive. Maybe just burnt out or busy with IRL stuff.
Someone with Discord access could maybe confirm or deny that, if he's said anything about it, but at the very least I wouldn't worry about him if I were you.

Sprankeez, gtsguyenjoyer, crankowanko, bottopbot2 and some others that mostly do renders are all using scrags models and heavily following his footsteps
some others artists I can recommend are: squashandstretch(2d stuff, beware of chubby girls) sizmetric, benevolentbunny (if you dont mind futa) and holdingnuts (also futa)
