As an other member wrote, if your character is bald, just give him another haircut. Worked fine for me

There was another black screen bug a few updates back.
The solution was to make sure VR mode is enabled in the options menu, then press F1 when you get the black screen.
It fixed the issue then, don't know if it will fix it for you now. Could be unrelated.
