It can't be a con by definition.
You can always wait for several updates yourself.
You literally have more options then if the author desided to push only big updates.

if i remember correctly you need to allow Cookie use cafe at night for meeting with this guy
this choice will appear in first event, which will unlock after you finish 11 "Give number" task

I allowed her to use the cafe at night, but when I did she didn't have the triangle pin, but now that she does have one I can't replay the first event.
