There's finally been an update and an estimated release again.
End of 2020 progress update
tldr: Lots of progress on SHF3. Not quite done yet.
Now for the dangerous part: I'm actually pretty confident this'll be ready in ~2 weeks. So, mid-January. It scares me to even say it out loud but it might actually be true.
What's left to do:
Well, everything is "working". From a developer's perspective.
It works, but some of it is still just spitting text out into the dev console. Or it works, but it needs to be severely buffed/nerfed to be playable. Or it works, but the animations aren't hooked up to anything yet, so they need to be triggered in the code. Or it works, but one species or size of pony glitches a bit visually. Or it works, but the UI doesn't display it yet. That's where we're at.
This is a great place to be in (relatively) because it's all pretty predictable in how much time it'll take to do.
For mechanics work- I'll still be dedicating a bit of time to breathplay, gagging, and some fluids stuff. Whatever I've gotten done in the next couple of weeks will be what ships with this update.

Yeah, mouth stuff is about half the reason for the delay, since there wasn't any framework for it before, and a ton of stuff has to be done from scratch, I guess.

And since you mentioned it, that's the exact thing that happened to me. I just haven't found any good pokeporn games. But the MLP community has some crazy dedication. Good for them, I suppose.

Look for Monster Mind by Argonvile. While very puzzle oriented, it looks great and the dialogues are very entertaining.
A really good game, I just wish that there was a christmas version updated of the game. (The christmas version has no puzzles)
Pocket Campfire by PawPunch is really nice, it's current 2.0 version is a "bit" buggy, but it's still playable and has some top notch animations.

For real though, I'm really hoping SHF doesn't update right at 11:59 PM on the 31st (or get delayed again, haha).
Literally none of the devs I follow have been updating monthly like they're supposed to, outside of the Kobold Kare guy.
The thing was so buggy the devs apologized for it
Also I find it funny that the Itch version of the "stable" game stops loading at about 30% for most people, including myself.
