VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Secret Summer [v1.0 Epilogue] [SuperWriter]

While the story is interesting the characters & more intimate scenes leave a lot to be desired, The protagonist himself is a wuss & despite even the protags claim is a bit premature shall we say, there are few characters to like or empathise with in the game also which is a shame because as I said the story is interesting

The models are the best thing about the game. Girls are pretty (although Coral is making weird faces sometimes, i mean like something wrong with the model)

the writing is good, but the story is nothing to write home about. the girls are trowing themselves at MC without much effort from his part. the choices he makes are one-sided as well, the game will not be changed much, if there were no changes at all and it was one straight story line.
but for the most part it's enjoyable to read. so that's good. the characters are interesting, and emotional. the good models add to that, since the facial expressions are really good and show emotions very well.
one gripe i have so far with the writing/story/characters, is the attempted rape of Irene (was that the name, i'm bad with names). so she almost get raped, she was terrified and very upset. and the very same evening, like 2 hours after that event, she sleeps with MC. after being raped or barely escaping from rape, women don't even want to be touched on the hand or shoulder, not to mention being intimate with someone. (and funny thing is the game mentioned "game of thrones", and that is pointed out in the show as well). for some reason that whole scene rubbed me wrong.

but other than that, it's an enjoyable read. nothing fancy, no grand story, nor complex interaction with the characters. but i sill liked it.

the game models are hot. the writing is good the dad is a douche. and you get to sleep with both of his ex-wives. what is there not to love to be honest. the one thing I found annoying about the game is if you are going to give me the option to rip someone's spine out and beat them with it and then you turn around and it not really be a choice don't bother because daddy douche does deserve to get this spine ripped out of his worthless body. and beaten with it. Also if we are ever allowed to fight daddy douche again allow us to curve stomp his head it. All in all I loved the story. I love the blonde wife and I loved being able to fuck her like i should if you haven't played you get your ass moving and play it!

I like good-guy-games with harem. If you don't like that, this is no game for you. Because MC is a really good guy that help the LIs with different problems and gets rewarded by doing so.

All the girls are good to look at but still different types which is good. The plot isn't Nobel Prize quality, but this is just a lewd game so good enough for that. The MC is a good guy but I liked .

The only thing is that the sex scenes are not that good but I like the build up to them. So I'm not taking away a * for that. So eagerly awaiting next upgrade.

The storyline is great and the models are gorgeous. It's a great game overall. The one thing I wish it had is animations... But I understand with how long it takes to render that stuff in Daz it's not really easy to do unless u got an incredible video card for rendering. So keep it up! Harem lover <3

The writing is great for the stories he has going in his games and his artwork is very good too. The largest problem is that the developer doesn't create more intimate/hot scenes. The biggest reason most people support these games is for the erotic scenes and having only one position and 8 frames for those scenes is no where near enough. I honestly think his protagonist only lasts like 10 seconds in bed and makes me question how they could possibly love the guy if he is a less than a minute man. Lots of unexplored potential and is possible you can become one of the big time devs on patreon that has thousands of patrons.

I rarely ever read the story thoroughly when playing this kind of games, but this one is exception. I really like the plot, it's not too rushed or too dumb at any view. I like that characters really do feel real and they have their own strong personalities and points of view, how they see stuff is nicely shown. There are few stuff like kinks that I don't like, such as pubic hair, but that just makes the game feel more real. The woman you like may have pubic hair, you know?
I hope that game won't introduce any NTR or such stuff in the future, cause I don't feel like skipping story on this game. I really had to free up some time to play it ,so it would really ruin it for me.
Characters I liked the most are Leanne and Irene. And yeah, Irene is such a lovely character! I really like her and her personality, I just broke up with girlfriend and I sure as hell wanted several times for Irene to be real and meet her somehow(Haha!)
Well, I hope that this game will be on bright side,(Too many NTR stuff as I was searching for a new game, honestly, what's up with it? I'm not judging tho, take your cup of tea) and hope that he'll somehow get the harem going(Yeeaa booiii!)
But for some people romance story may not be something they look for in a porn game. As for me, I really do like it.

What saddens me is that there's complete lack of animations, soo yeah, that's kinda sad. But maybe there will be some in remastered?

pretty boring game with a boring, random mc. dialogues are mostly meaningless. i would imagine all these high ratings come from the people who wants to play a romance game where being a good guy is rewarded and you have to chose the answers that make you a wussy to keep story going and delving into supposedly meaningful relations (whatever that means in a porn game).

Great game, good renders and a nice story.

What points it loses from the lack of animations (dev mentioned he'd rather remove them completely than have bad ones which is fine by me) it makes up with interesting story and cross-game cameos.

One of my top ten faves, can hardly wait for more content. Great story with wonderfully fleshed out characters. Games like this inspire me to contemplate making one of my own in the near future. I only hope I can create something half as good as what I have seen from this developer.

Fam, why do you have a thing for short games/stories?
My first game from your series was secret summer. I tried picture perfect which finished recently. That was oh so short, and final development was clearly cut short.
You've already started wrapping up secret summer. Sure it's version 0.9 and that's almost 1.0. But the content!!!
The ladies in secret summer are sexier and it's no contest. You can't make this so damn short!!!
This update was Irene's path. Based on the branching, it looks like you might add some more to her path later. You should. All the girls need quite a bit more content. And seriously, don't just end on a clearly unfinished note!
And I'm pretty sure none of us would object to Irene's path concluding in her and the MC's own home with her shocked and sharing that she is pregnant.

Some of the worst dialogue I've ever seen. The MC is major league moron and a serious creep to boot, but somehow everyone finds that awesome and acceptable... it's just delusional. The storytelling as a whole is seriously low tier.

I really tried to make it through this game, but did not get very far at all. Only reason it doesn't have 1 star is 'cause the models are well done, though the facial expressions are not.

When the writer is the story instead of the story being the story.

To explain: When one plays this game they will inevitably happen upon the tried and true Ren`Py menu options. Choice A vs Choice B...except there's really no choice B in how the game plays out. Choice B usually has some snarky comment attached and if one chooses it, literally game over. So the player is left with a linear route and must abide by the dev's decisions, not their own. Also, the snarky Narrator comments detract from immersion.

All the above wouldn't be so bad if the dev could actually succeed in being funny, but we've heard all this sophomoric banter a thousand times before and it fails to engage.

To add injury to insult, the game is full of the standard tropes, especially regarding your run-f-the-mill harem-cest game. Just show up and whoop out the magic wand and all will bow down before you. Right....

Pros:

++ Nice artwork with realistic skin tones

Cons:

-- The writer/dev inserts himself into the game...and fails.

- Lack of any originality in story progression or execution.

-- Lack of meaningful choices with consequence to relationships...well, other than 'game over'.

I really like this game. The main theme isn't really unique, but it's well done with some well thought details. But what shines here, IMO, are the characters. They have very interesting personalities with multiple layers and the renders are hot as hell. It's one of the very few games that I play release-by-release.

I can't believe the game has such a high ranking. Let me be clear, if you are looking at least for a glance of logically building relationships - skip this game. MC's mom check out your boner at the first encounter, your sisters are ready to jump on you too. IT's just a very basic Harem game with no real "cracking" or slow paced mechanics. Play some other top notch incest games but definitely not this one. (Fortunately f95zone and some amazing studios still can deliver)

After finishing the latest update of Secret Summer and these are my thoughts... Spoilers ahead (you've been warned)

I replayed the whole of Secret Summer last night as I hadn't played it in a long time so there was a lot of content for me to catch up on plus I hadn't played it in such a long time I kinda forgot what happened. But I must say fucking bravo!!! I fucking loved it. This is by far my favorite game of SW's )The setting and premise is really good I love my wholesome protection games, so the setting of the MC taking a shit deal to protect his family and their way of living really ticked all my boxes. The characters are so well written and have their own individuality unlike a lot of VNs where a lot of the characters just merge into one due to a lack of good writing and character development; But not in SS it is done really well.

The story development with Irene was amazing you coming out and telling her about the contract to try and protect your family was amazing and the fact that she didn't snitch on you to your dad really made her instantly lovable, then we get to the sex scene with Irene and I say one of the best-written sex scenes I've had in a VN, there was love and passion and also of emotion, unlike the average VN where it is just carnal desire, he being so love-struck and opening up to the MC, she is one of my fave characters for sure.

The cameos with PP were really well done and didn't distract you from the game as other cameos do, they fit well into the world and the game tournament was a perfect scenario for Sasha and Miracle to be inserted in. The game tournament with Coral is a really nice story and I'm excited to see where it goes shes so cute.

Zoe being the eldest is going to be a tough cookie to crack and to get to open up due to her having a lot of responsibility being the sibling with the most responsibility and pressure to look after the family. Helping her open up and understand that the family doesn't hate her but just wants her to open up was really cute and the fact that she took the advice to heart instead of dismissing it was really good.

Leanne is cute and her free spirit nature is awesome but it shows she has something bothering her the reveal of the wankers at her workplace trying to take advantage makes me wanna burn the office down but she handled it herself in an awesome and funny way with the whole humiliate and record him was funny and awesome. taking her to the camping trip was cute and allowed us a deep dive into her character understanding about your dickhead dad crushing her dreams of becoming a dancer, one makes me want to "Stab him with the closest sharp object" and then help Leanne in any way I can to make dreams become a reality and for her to finally be happy and to get the pressure of Zoe off her back.

On to Norah as you know I'm never really into the whole Milf or mother relationship but jesus christ this one is the exception she is so cute and wholesome and loveable that you cant help just wanting to make her life better she tries so hard to make the family happy and stay together and it hurts me on an emotional level seeing how much she missed the MC and how it hurts her thinking she did something wrong making you leave, congrats you are now on the select list of people that managed to draw a positive real-life emotional reaction from me, and after hearing about the wankers in the bakery makes me wanna go John Wick on their asses and I hope we get this sorted out soon as I hate seeing her in distress as she is so wholesome and lovable.

SS is really good i fucking love it the characters are awesome the story is wholesome and enticing it just pulls you in and when a game makes me actually a bit upset when it says that it for this update that's when you know your doing something good. SS has actually earned its place in one of my TOP 5 VN's i enjoyed it that much. I also love Sun breed a lot.

Jesus christ the writing is so fucking bad I can't continue it. The general dialogue is bad, but the dialogues leading up to the sexual encounters/events is so god damn cringe worthy, honestly the worst I've seen. It's so stupid, so unrealistic, so hamfisted and childish it makes me believe this was in fact written by a child.

If you can completely ignore the writing and the story it might be interesting for you. But I play these kinda porn games because I need a story to get my rocks off, it doesn't have to be great, it can be just ok. But the story and dialogue in this completely killed any chub I was working on and just made me feel physically bad from the cringe.

The game has amazing renders with uniquely hot character models, but the real highlight of this game is the writing and relationship development.

I can count on one hand the number of games on F95zone that have writing I'd consider good and compelling, and this game enjoys the distinction of being in their rarefied number. Definitely a game worth donating to on patreon.

First thing I noticed. after checking to see if my headphones were broken, was the utter silence. No sound effects, no music, no sound design whatsoever.

The girls/models are pretty decent.The MC is absolutely insufferable. His dialogue really wants me to slap him, and his thought's aren't any different. He believes he is the literal white knight of the universe, being blessed on this earth to whiteknight every girl he sees, solving every psychological issue with ease (and not by being clever, but by having cheap writing support his actions).

Unfortunately the writing, while not incompetent at all, reads too much like some weird "mr nice guy/whiteknight" fantasy and it never fires back. There was a good base with charactervariaty to start with and plenty of oppertunity to have different archtypes (e.g. would have loved for -initially "evil"- stepmom to charm him and fuck him over or somtehing) but unfortunately every girl turns into the same person. You can tell that the writing and style doesn't change between characters, which muddies immersion and is a bit offputting.

There is a grand total of 2 sex scenes (vanilla vaginal) in the game (besides some clothed "masturbation"), each one very short (11 and 7 still images) - not animated, and the act stops after what feels like 2 seconds after MC enters a pussy. Totally underwhelming.

Not the worst but I overall think this game is "average", and I think I am reaching high with that conclusion. I personally won't be following it's development, because most stuff I saw was underwhelming, or missing entirely.

I loved it. Great story and writing, while the plot is quite common, I see nothing wrong with that as long as it is enjoyable and interesting like this.

All the girls are beautiful and attractive, they have different personalities and struggles, the pace for each relationship is also believable, not too rushed so it feel cheap or too slow so it's boring. And what I like too is, they don't have too much drama.

The only thing I love to see improving is the sex scenes, while the dialog in it is good, I think it's need more posing and various position to compensate for no animation.

I can't wait to see more of this, fortunately the updates is consistent and fast. I recommended this one if you are looking for a good light romance AVN.
