I agree that Her Desire is using them well. It's literally one of only two that I've played that I can say that for though (the other being Whispers of Desire). Here, dev is doing great animations, IMO, without experimenting with AI, and I think it's right to avoid it if you can. Just because it's "easy" doesn't make it "right".The animations in close-ups are very well done.
However, when the full bodies of several people are shown, some body parts don't move at all. I think that slightly diminishes the immersion.
That's what I mean by too stiff/robotic—just my humble opinion.
Otherwise, badbod is doing excellent work.
And when the AI is used well, I think it's just a bonus.
See, for example, games like "Her Desire" (the last two updates).
As I said, I don't recall thinking any of the animations here were stiff or robotic, and certainly nothing that would break the immersion for me, but I do agree with what you say about the close animations. I remember thinking to myself in the last update that they looked particularly good.
