You eventually meet both. If you start off the vn on Sarah's path, we'll eventually meet Mary. Same if starting with Mary, you’ll eventually meet Sarah. But if you're a scene completion player, you'd have to play both paths

I always wondered about that, thank you. I started the path where the MC saves Sarah at the beginning, then declines a ride with her. At that point, I changed my mind, went back and accepted the ride. Now I know, thanks to you, there is an entirely different path and story which I have not seen.

I suppose the same thing happens should the MC pick up the Chinese girl first, then go to the MC's extended family, where she naturally escapes. At that point, the MC is tortured, James is killed... and I changed my mind again, reverting my choice.

It is nice that the game has some truly distinct paths for replays. I wonder what else I could do on the road not taken?

It is realy a 5-Star to me and I see the various paths ahead with Helen/Jane and their daughters in Brook Ridge at some point.
