Hey, everyone. I am sorry to announce this but Secrets of Sorcery will be coming to an end. Over the past few days I have faced a series of issues. My computer basically destroyed itself. And while I managed to save the versions of the game that are currently out, All my character models and the programs I use to make the game have been wiped and stopped working. To continue the story from here I would have to rebuild things basically from scratch. With increased pressure at work and at home, this isn't something I can do. I am really sorry that our story has come to an end this way. It's not what I had planned at all. I was working towards a much more satisfying conclusion. But here we are. Version 0.39.0 will be the last update. I want to thank everyone who has taken their time to play. And special thanks to all of the people who have become patrons. It has been a wild ride telling this story. And I hope each and every one of you had fun. The public release for 0.39.0 will go ahead on the 14th as it was supposed to and I will be closing down this patreon soon after (The game will stay up onYou must be registered to see the links). I am truly thankful to everyone who has supported me with this project and I deeply regret that it can't go any further.
TL;DR:
Secrets of Sorcery is ending with the public release of 0.39.0.
0.39.0 will release to the public on the 14th of October.
Thank you for any support you gave, it meant the world to me.
I really do hope you enjoyed your time with this story.
Unlikely. I'm afraid the only way we're seeing an all gallery replay sort of thing is if someone mods or engineers it into the game. Even then, you can still access all of the images from this game but I suppose some would prefer to witness the events as intended. The loss of this game is a sad one. But at the same time the sheer scope of it over the course of 3 years is a pain to keep track even if there was a backup, I don't think most can afford that amount of space or means to upgrade. As far as I understand it, this cast is quite large as are the unique models and clothing. It would be hell to try and remake or reverse engineer those models back into a usable modifiable state with how this game was coded. If the cast were as big as say maybe 6 at most, the loss probably would be a setback of about a few weeks. But we got about 20 characters maybe a bit more if you consider one-offs and over a hundred character events total to not only reconstruct but also make sure looks identical. It would be an undertaking to try and remake this from scratch and I understand the burn out the dev is experiencing. Wish the dev the best of luck.okay now can u please add an update that allows u to unlock all gallery scenes
Lie ton of progress is the scripts which are saved in the game... decompile the game and you got most of your game back. Just have to remake the character models. So I don't believe these excuses for a moment.Aw man, I can't imagine how much it must suck to lose a ton of progress. Some people push through it and come back, some don't. Unfortunate, but what can you do.
It was a good run. Thanks for everything
You should check out works by Lord Voldy / Rebel 357. There are numerous KK game projects completed, they are also free games.Fucking sucks why is it every fucking game that has a interesting story that we want to actually see the ending to gets fucking ended? This one had a very intriguing story and than just canceled. Yeah canceled I can't believe anyone would not have some sort of backup. Also a lot of the game is able to be decompiled now with the scripts that make up the majority of the game. So no backup not a good excuse.
This is why I have pretty much stopped supporting any Patreon too much milking and never completing games.
It's really bad when you can only name a few devs/studios that actually have finished games that you could actually support.
1. Flex Media
2. The Coder
3. Pink Mochi Dango
4. Lightning Rooster Productions
5. Cursed Atelier
The only few I know that have completed games or will complete it. So shows that most people really are stupid to support Patreon when very few ever finish a single game.
