Agreed. But at the same time he could have been honest insteqd of taking peoples money who were invested in the love path he kept promising was happening. Over and over about choices and ntr was just a consequence. Money is one thing, lying to get money until you cant hide it anymore is another.
Shit like that is why some people (not myself mind you) refuse or are hesitant to back games on Patreon or other sites. Duplicity.
Totally agree.
Personally, I don't care if the Dev decides he wants to make a cuck game. The "ignore" button is wonderful for addressing such dev's.
But the whole "I am going to make a game with choice" then players start $upporting with money.
Only to have the Dev go "Actually I can't make it avoidable because - insert bullshit reason-"

This is quite literally why I have gone from support 10+ developers over projects that take years, to supporting 2 or 3. These days I mostly just 'buy them a coffee' option for a couple of Euro's. Once the game is done, and once I have played it. Which is a massive difference from the 80-100 Euro's per year I used to support each project for. This change in my personal habit is 100% because of a lack of trust, due to exactly these types of issues.
In situations like this I think a Dev should offer a full refund to players who were only supporting because of promised content that will no longer be present in the game.
Seems fair;
Dev - "I will put/will not put (Specific Content) in my game."
Player - "I will give money because the Dev promises they will be putting/not putting (Specific Content) in the game"
-Several payments later-
Dev - "I changed my mind, I will no longer be putting/not be putting (Specific Content) in my game"
Player "Then I would never had supported you. Please return the money you obtained under false pretense"
To be clear, Dev's should 100% make what they want to make. But actions also have consequences.
