what the frick happened in the year i haven't played... can't for the life of me find where the heck you put the button to put money in treasury, rowan is rich as ftick while the treasury is poor af and no fricking way to fix that. and according to all the information i have found through the search bar NOBODY ANSWERS THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION. WHAT HAPPENED TO "PUT MONEY IN TREASURY"

considering it's almost impossible for the treasury to actually get any money cuz by the time it finally has 150 or more to build something, the very next week it's gone

guess ill go to another game this week (cuz answers aren't likely to come apparently)

Gold conversion was removed- but there are far more ways for Rowan to earn personal gold now.

Mechanics got a nice overhaul.

My only two criticisms are

1) I'd love for there to be more ways the stats could help rowan in the core plot
2) There isn't enough to spend treasury gold on in the mid / late game. Rowan could build the lairs for 3 separate lady dragons with the phat stacks he's got squirreled away by week 70.

It does....idiot proof the economy though- so I'm sure the gold changes were a nice boon for some folks.

Hiya, so I'm wondering if there's a bug because after I had Rowan assign an infiltrator to Raeve Keep I can no longer interact with the keep tile and I have 4 weeks left to attack it. Any suggestions?

You should infiltrate earlier if you keep running out of time, because it takes a while for the infiltration to work. For me, it took anywhere from 2-5 weeks (if I recall correctly) :)

Can someone help me out? Came back to this game after about a year I think but I can't open the new version. I'm getting the error where the .exe file can't open the seeds_of_chaos.py file in the main directory. Anyone know how to fix this or at least why it happens?

Im confused, I played this game a long while back and it ended following the capture of the city. And I replayed it now and it still ended after the capturing of the city. Changelog indicates it hasnt been abandoned so whats up with that?

Same here. They had improved some aspects of the game though. Really slow development..

Seed of Chaos was confirmed as just first part of a planned 3 games. This is just the first game, right now some characters that became popular between Patreons are now rewritten to give them more story, the majority of the art is now being remodeled tp have the same style. This first part to be done besides all that, need to finish some other of the original characters their respective quest development.

Since, people are on the topic of these long running games. I have always been curious. How much have you guys spent on this game? Have you been supporting from the start? Will you keep supporting for another 5 years or say enough is enough after a certain year limit?

Honestly, I don't care what people do with their money. It is theirs. I'm just curious how gamer's mindset works on these projects. Is there a certain point at which you start questioning you support if it takes too long?
I would venture to guess that most the people here have put zero dollar in this game because this is a pirate site. There are some of us that have either signed up for their patreon or bought the game on steam and are just here for the discussion, but I would guess they are the minority. I imagine that for the steam crew they see themselves as having already contributed their fair share and likely don't throw any more money at the creators.

Patreon is a bit different however. Personally, I have never came across a patreon that I felt was worth the investment long term. Hell, most of them you can get anything worth while by subscribing for one month, maybe another month here and there just to get the new stuff. However, I don't think getting your money's worth is the point of Patreon. I think the key lies the the origin of Patreon's name: patron.

Historically speaking creative endeavors were a poor way to make a living, if you wanted any sort of stability you had to attract a patron. Essentially a rich person that was willing to pay for your living expenses so that you could focus on your art. Patrons didn't do this for a return or their investment, they did it for the prestige of discovering and cultivating talent. Now, someone like me, I can't afford pay for the cost of living for anyone outside my immediate family, but what I can afford is a few bucks a month for a few people. So what Patreon has done is made it easy for people like me to pull our resources and become a patron and to find someone to patronage.

How much have contributed to their Patreon? I don't know. I mean it would be easy to figure out: my plege x how long I've subscribed. I just don't care. When I patreon someone, I'm not buying a product from them, I'm contributing to enabling them to keep making what ever it is they make. And I will keep contributing as long as I feel like it. When I don't feel like it any more then I'll stop.

At this point, I enjoy the updates like a serialized comic book or manga chapter. There's new content, new art, new routes to check. One of the best parts is that there's rarely a delay in release.

The worst part is that some releases leave you hanging... Like the last one without Alexia content. :(

This isn't really true.

To go back to the original question so I'm not completely in the weeds. When I have the option I buy on Steam, then follow them here for faster updates, discussion, etc. If Steam isn't an option, I use this site to find games I like, then subscribe to them for however much total money I felt it was worth. This number may go up later on in the development cycle, in which case I do it again.

This isn't what Patreon is meant for, and I've seen creators dislike this form of support because they want a steadier income more than they want a larger one, so fluctuations worry them. But also I expect about 50% of western adult games to get abandoned at some point and there are so many games I get some enjoyment out of that supporting them all would be absurd, so I drew the line somewhere. ...And like all lines drawn in the sand, I have re-drawn it at times to support some creators "extra."

Coming late to the party, I just discovered this game, and I think it's the first time I've wanted to play the game after watching the gallery.

First, holy shit there is a lot of artwork. Some of them seems to be of a lower quality, but the vast majority is really impressive, both in style and construction of the scene.

Second, cheating, corruption, ntr, monsters, bestiality, all that stuff is my kink. If I were asked to imagine the perfect porn game for me, I would have never thought of anything this good. And as far as I played it, maybe 30 minutes, the story and the settings elevates the art.

Third, as I said I haven't played a lot yet, so I can't really judge how the gameplay holds in the long run, but from what I've seen it seems pretty balanced with the story. And done well enough compared to the majority of porn games. I hate it when they throw random gameplay in, and it's the bare minimum. "Do this jigsaw puzzle", "go fetch item A in this random location 1, and then use it in the random location 2 to unlock random item B" etc. I get why people do that, it's a porn game, but personally I'm more interested in the porn part than the game part. To bust a nut I don't want to play rock-paper-scissors, I want good art and preferably a good story with it.
But I guess I'll see what happens as I progress.

And it made me think how far we've come in the porn/adult game "genre" in just a few years. Top games on Patreon now have the financial means of a small indie studio, we have story and art of the quality of Seeds of Chaos or Our Red String, when a few years back on the internet Meet'N'Fuck stuff was probably the best you could easily find for free.

Anyway, top tier game, love it.

Yep happens pretty much every 1-2 months. :ROFLMAO:
It's a vicious cycle that happens in virtually every thread on virtually every game on the site. "Dev scam u" "We're not paying." "ululz u wayt su long." "We're not paying." "me am smrt than u u wayt four dis." "Again, none of us are paying, this is a piracy site." "olol compair 2 $200,000,000 aaa gam lol u dum" and so on and so forth until the heat death of the universe. Say what you will about SoC's slow progress at the very least it updates pretty consistently, which is more than you can say about 90% of the games on this site. It's clearly keeping its patreon supporters happy, it's clearly keeping we who sail the seven seas happy, and the devs are only cranky jerks about we pirates in this thread on a semi-regular basis. SoC has done enough for me to consider actually purchasing it on Steam when it releases and that's saying something.
