But then again it is just an option in one of playthroughs. You can't define her like she's some kind of oppressed jealous thing in general. But the whole corruption theme is a thing.

So i still don't get why she is so special in your opinion. She is a plain and simple farmgirl. Take for example Rowan: a war hero, strong willed and cunning warrior that is falling from his grace. It is interesting to see his development and how he change. On the other hand we have Alexia: normal housewife with no real life experience, no achievments, no goals, nothing. How is that an interesting protag? even if she gets fully corrupted my reaction will be :"Oh well whatever". She had no personality to begin with so corrupting her is not that difficult and not that important.
To be fair, Rowan was one just some plain simple farm boy as well. He wasn't born a war hero or a great general. He was just some nobody that was thrown in an exceptional situation and was lucky enough to survive long enough to discover and build the talents that made him the man he is today. Rowan has already completed a full , and there were surely hundred if not thousands of choices that lead him to being the person he is now.

For Alexia being kidnapped and help prisoner by demons is also an exceptional situation. This could be her inciting incident, her call to adventure if you will. She is still early in her journey but there are already seeds that show she could develop into a great woman, but whether she will or not depends on a mixture of luck and her own choices (our choices) just as it did for Rowan.

On a related note, if I recall correctly the developers have mentioned that they hadn't originally intended for Alexia to have such a large part in the story. She was mostly there to act as the inciting incident for Rowan, and for the NTR tag. But due to her popularity among the fan base her role in the story has grown and as such they want to give her more relevancy and agency in the story. However I suspect it will be a while before we see a lot of progress for her, they are currently focusing on other character arcs at the moment (Luirial, X'zaratl, and Cla-min as of the last update), and Alexia will probably be the biggest one when they get to her because they said they want to give her an arc for each of her castle jobs.

Anyone else having an issue getting the scene with Alexia and Andras at the start? When Rowan gets back from week 1 I get no choices for not sneaking out or telling her to do it with Andras. Rowan just shows up of his own accord and he tells her the truth and she gets angry and calls the night with Andras off. Did they change how this works or is the guide giving me info without the context of "The second time" or something?
The beginning has been getting reworked (and is still in progress as per the last update). Likely to try and give Alexia more agency (see above), they have reworked the scene. Rowan will now always sneak out to see her, but instead of Rowan making the decision on where or not she should have sex with Andras, instead Alexia has the option to hate-fuck him when he comes to visit her, but to trigger this she has to have expressed interest in taking him up on his offer in their previous encounter.

HeyA360  Not sure how long ago you played- but basically in the last two updates -->

Additional Cla-min narrative has been a nice change of pace from the usual oppression vibes you get in the game while playing on Rowan's side. Also the art was super-hot. Sommie's goblins are really exceptional.

The Liurial narrative is particularly compelling. So many vibes- so many options. Rowan x Jezera banter is often exceptional- and Liurial is adorable. You can fully explore the route without any sexuality as well which is rather nice as an option.

Draith's arc was also very well done. Not sure when you last played but it was basically finished out for Act1. Again, you can fully explore the route without being sexual, which I appreciate.

The art for Draith will take awhile to get done since gay content doesn't do very well in the patreon CG polls.

I'm guessing both the Cla-Min and Liurial arcs will have a finale this or the next release and should get their art relatively soon after that based on patreon voting. If you wait until March for another play-through I suspect you should get them in their full glory.

Lots of updated Hel art has been added- but the narrative content hasn't been worked on yet.
Thanks that's got me exited to play again. It's been a while since I actually played think late 2020 or early 21! I'll give it another run through, love Liurial and Cla-Min (agreed goblin in this are drawn really well) so be cool to see whats happened with them since I last played.

Well to be fair Rowan had to be cunning and having strong will all his life, i know his origin is the same, but their personalities are different. Not everyone born in the village can become a hero. So yes he was different before war, but he had seeds (of chaos xd) planted into him when he was conceived, to become what he is now. Alexia on the other hand is very simple, naive and generally a good girl. I don't know, but i won't buy it if she becomes some kind of powerful dark lord (just because). You can corrupt her all you want, but still she is being secluded in the castle. A little different circumstances in my opinion with Rowan's change of life. She is still being treated like a house plant ( and i don't think she has so much freedom now, just like she had no freedom before in the village). So her drastic change shall be only in behaviour and maybe in appearance in my opinion, her innate talents should stay the same. And that's why they are trying to give her at least something to make her somewhat special and important (her latent magic talent).

Just because the path is not obvious it does not mean it is not there. Alexia may play a subordinate character for now, but every lead villain is a supporting character. Sauron didn't wake up one morning on his very own and say "I'm going to be a morgul lord", he was first a servant of Melkor. Kefka wasn't the big bad from go, he started as a failed research experiment and eventual jester to Emperor Gestahl. That's not to say she'll ever rise up to be a big bad, but the more you say "I don't see it." the more you won't let yourself see it.

I didn't say Alexia won't change at all. She can become something more of course but not something so drastic. Sauron being under Melkor doesn't make him weak and useless like Alexia. He was born a Maiar. So yes he was always fucking powerful and had what it takes to become the dark lord himself. It is just kind on doubtful to call everything Rowan achieved in the war pure luck. Maybe it was somewhat lucky, but it was also his personnal skillset that made it possible.

It must be gratifying to have all these Tolkien comparisons going on all the time in the thread dedicated to your porn game on a filthy pirate site.

I loved this game until the First "Bad" Ending. After it, and after playing for another hour, I'm finding it hard to find the will to keep playing. I'm enjoying to exploring and all that that came after, the story? I don't know, I can shake the feeling from the back of my mind that what I'm doing is terribly wrong. I hope it doesn't get too dark and I stop playing because it would be shame with such a good writing and Art. I'll try to soldier on.

Thank you and the best of luck.

is the steam version updated the same time as the Patreon or does it take longer?
Steam is updated every 4 months; Patreon is updated every 2. It has been such basically like clockwork over the last 2 or so years- the team is very consistent.

The updates are somewhat staggered- usually when a steam update rolls up it gets pushed through in the middle of the month- whereas the patreon update tends to be at the end of the month.

Which means months like this one when a Steam and a patreon update are coming out are pretty hard on the Dev team- so everyone should be nice to them this month ;-)

Obviously there are some other benefits to being a patreon- like getting to vote in polls; but if you are just looking to enjoy the game and don't mind waiting an extra 2 months in the intervals buying the product on Steam is a very consistent and nice way to enjoy the content.

Haven't played this game in a spell. How are we doing in the Cliohna romance department?
We haven't seen an event that involved Cilonia in more than an ancillary way in a hot minute.

I suspect we won't have anything tangible until the Rastdel aftermath or Game 2.

As to why this is the case - I'd guess it is a pacing issue.

Cilonia seems to be very popular and always gets asked about- but advancing her plot with Rowan too far would create for a suite of circumstances where it might not make sense why she wasn't using her vast knowledge of magic ect to help Rowan out.

I suspect it would be very easy for her to remove the necklaces or oppose the Twins herself. She is an ancient mage with life-times of experience. They are essential edgy half-demon teenagers.

If you pursue all of her different routes (dom / sub) you get a look at quite a significant amount of back-story relating to her motivations- which helps contextualize why she is helping the twins in the first place. If that were to evaporate because of a proper romance arc or her finding out Rowan could offer her a similar chance of achieving her end goals the plot would need to move forwards in a specific way- but I think it'd be too early in the plot for it to move in that direction.

A final though:
We have a pregnancy arc (Rowan X Alexia) narrative piece coming up in the January release - which could hypothetically involve Cilonia or any of the characters Rein writes honestly- but again it wouldn't advance the core Cilonia romance narrative.

If you compare the size of Cliohna's arc to Shaya's or Greyhide's, it's clear that our beloved librarian has much less content in Act I than other castle NPCs, despite being one of the first side characters introduced during the development of SoC. It's such a shame... :(

According to the latest roadmap update Clionha's arc is finished for the current act. So I would expect more content in which she is the main focus until we move on to Act 2. of course that doesn't preclude from playing a major role in another character's arc. For instance....
Wishing for a ClionhaXAlexia arc. That wouldn't mess the pacing.
While I don't know if we will get a ClionhaxAlexia sexual encounter (Clionha hasn't really shown a lot of interest in sex apart from using it as a means to mind control a particularly stubborn subject), I would at least expect we will get a decent amount of interaction between them when the developers start focusing on Alexia's library job arc. Though it is worth mentioning that the library arc is fairly lacking in sexual scenes involving Alexia compared to the other jobs...

A bit of a victim of being the test case for Arc work. Her arc is complete for the chapter. And it was written in the newer style, so we don't really need to fix anything with it. If Rein wasn't swamped with useful stuff, I'd send him back to write more of it. But, best he spends his time and effort on X'z and Nassim, who aren't done yet for the act.
