These six Alexia job scenes sound tasty, especially if a number (as it is said in the update) are medium corruption. If it is three, I'm thinking it's Maid, Library, Tavern.
There are 2 Medium corruption locked scenes. One for Maid and one for Forge. There is three new library events though. Alexia/Liurial is semi-corruption locked.

As in, it's locked by the Elf-threesome, but that scene in turn is difficult to trigger without mid-corruption.
That scene was bugged in the last update I think, if you lied to Alexia about having slept with Liurial, the game would jump to the threesome scene label (avoiding the threesome conversation label), inside there would be a conditional branch where a medium/high corruption Alexia would start making out with Liurial, but the branch for a low corruption Alexia was just straight up missing and the scene would just suddendly skip to Alexia and Liurial already making out and Rowan about to join them.

If that hasn't been fixed then it would still be pretty easy to do those scenes with low corruption and without Alexia having cheated on Rowan with either of the twins.

On the subject, is this new build going to be the last public release? I understand you guys wanted it to be the demo of the game but, unless bugfixes are not included in the changelog, then this build will still have plenty of the bugs and missing features of the previous one. It would probably be fine since it would still sell the game's story and art, but the gameplay would look a bit sloppy.

Alright. I'll bite.

What type of content constitutes a non-skipable release?
Content I find interesting. Based on the change log very little is added in terms of actual plot progression and only a handful of new scenes. At least three of which could very easily be just black backgrounds with text since they're not included in the list of new CGs.

We've been taking a look at that event. It appears that the bug you mentioned doesn't always fire. It's seemingly a weird bit of situational code because the event is so complex. It's on the back burner, but it's on our list of bugs that need fixing. Development is complex so we can't always get to each bug fast. That said, you can rest easy. That bit of skipped text has no impact on wether the sex scene procs, so it should impact the new event whatsoever.

I am not actually sure it will be. This is not my stance, but I'd likely recomend putting out a final free version a little bit later on with everything post battle locked, but the content until that point polished and with some of the route endings included.

1. The new Delane event is both one of my favorite events that I've written for the game in a long time, and also of plot importance. Delane is going to be important to the low corruption route as the story goes on, and this sets up her new dynamic with Rowan.

2. You can assume that if any release is single month, then there will almost always not be art for it. Art takes time to make. We're hoping to introduce some same-release art in the bimonthly schedule, but event then, many scenes will still launch without art. Especially those written in the second month.

Art takes time to make.

This is a complete non-answer. You, like everyone else here, are a faceless literal who on the internet. Nobody knows what interests you. Be specific.

This is how every update for this game works. They focus on completing writing and releasing a few scenes every month, and worry about adding art later, so the patrons can get a chance to vote for what scenes they want to see first. That means that the art that gets released every month is generally for older scenes.

Plot progresses slowly because (a) there’s a lot of writing involved and (b) they try to balance the plot updates with porn updates since, you know, it’s a porn game.

Some of this could change if they go to a two month release schedule like they’ve been talking about, but the overall pace of content (and the kind of content) being added probably won’t be significantly altered. If that’s an issue for you, it’s probably best you only check out new releases every few months.

(a) there’s a lot of writing involved
And 600,000+ Words at that, as far as I have heard.

To put this in another frame of mind, If we were to assume that a novel's length is roughly 50,000 words, Then the Seeds of Chaos writers have written the equivalent of 12 novels.

For this much work in a period of about 2-2.5 years, I'm Impressed. And the writing has generally been fairly consistent amongst most characters too, even when done by another writer. That's damn difficult to achieve.

I'm still waiting on that Whitescar scene though... :p

If Delane is going to be important to one of the major game pathways going forward, why is it so difficult to keep her alive? It requires rolling through three (or so?) skill checks, one of which requires something like a nat 20 (or total roll over 20? I'm not sure) to successfully escape with her, a roll for which the player is given very little opportunity to increase their chance of success. Really the only way to get access to this whole portion of the game you've created is save scumming, which seems suboptimal as far as game design goes.

I know there's been mention of an inventory and skills rework due November--can you go into more detail on how that rework will affect access to events like this?

I'll be honest with you, I don't care if you like the event you've written. In all truth, what you think about what you've made is completely meaningless as of course you're going to be attached to what you worked on. Using that as a defense is like a kid showing his or her parents the shit they just took. It might be impressive to the kid, but to the parents it's just the sixth shit in the toilet that they've seen this week. Delane bores me, and the writing in general for this game isn't particularly enthralling since nothing happens. It's been going since at least August of 2016 and it feels like you're still in the prologue. If you actually took the amount of content in the game and stuck it end to end, you'd have maybe 45 minutes to an hour of actual content without the fluff of the world map and how random things can be.

As for the single month release.. Big fucking whoop. If you can't actually finish content for release then don't release it with any of that content in it. I can't say I speak for everyone, but I would certainly be more amenable to donating to your patreon if you put out updates that are actually complete and feel substantial. People are willing to wait for worthwhile updates so long as there's communication.

Coming on here to defend your game isn't exactly going to change my mind on whether or not I think an update with a handful of scenes, a spattering of art and very little story progression. I don't care about what you think of what you worked on, you're as biased and unreliable of a source as humanly possible in this situation.

Comment got caught in the homophobia sweep.

But, still this really does beg the question what you actually like about the game? What do you *want*?

I can't say I speak for everyone
Oh thank god for that... phew!

Because I can certainly tell you right now that I am in stark contrast with most of your comment.

Delane bores me, and the writing in general for this game isn't particularly enthralling since nothing happens.
Cool, you don't like a character. That's fine.

But you certainly can't say that the writing in the game isn't enthralling, let alone boring. Because I'm still following the game since early 2017... because of the damn good writing! You could say that I a myself am enthralled... (Just don't tell Rein!)

Hell, at some points in the game I just plain dislike Alexia, perhaps through no fault of mine. Either way, I'm not going around giving shit to the authors by quite blatantly saying that their writing sucks (Which is largely what you insinuate when you say that their work 'bores' you.)

But that just plain isn't true. I may sometimes dislike Alexia, but I cannot fault the writing behind her, she's a well-written character.

Perhaps the writing is boring for you, but certainly not for most of the other users who have played the game, and thus in this case, you are more likely an outlier in this case. Because out of all the words I could use to describe the story or the writing in this game, boring is *Not* In my vocabulary.

Now, you could certainly critique the game for so many other things. Hell, Items being a damn good talking point, or the lack of a map. I have been pissy myself about some of the features in the game!

But being a dick about the writing... Hah, Get the hell outta here! No, not literally. The quality and consistency of the writing, at least from 2017 onwards, has frankly been very high (Spelling mistakes and ellipses aside). If you feel that its boring, fine. You do you. But It certainly hasn't been boring to me.

People are willing to wait for worthwhile updates so long as there's communication.
Please tell me you are not going to critique Seeds of Chaos about their Communication/Updating schedule. Because I need only have two words about them in this regard... "Fucking Impressive".

If this were Contrary to that point, people would have been forming lynchmobs about a week ago upon knowledge that Seeds of Chaos is now going 'Bi-monthly'. Yet I have not seen one comment here that has been to the negative on this point. In fact, reception over on Patreon on this move has been largely positive.

Meanwhile, over in 'Kingdom of Deception' land, Nomo is probably afraid of getting hung, drawn and quatered by his fanbase (Or perhaps, ex-fanbase). The reason? Shitty updating schedule and terrible Communication (And fairly poor writing after Sierra lee left, I might add).

You are free to critique Seeds of Chaos on the grounds of 'Poor updates/communication' but you probably won't get a large following of supporters.

Coming on here to defend your game isn't exactly going to change my mind on whether or not I think an update with a handful of scenes, a spattering of art and very little story progression.
Yeah, I don't think that Winter is here exactly to 'Defend' the game.

Rather, I'd say that Winter (And perhaps to a much lesser extent Rein) is here largely to talk to people 'In general', about things in the game, and perhaps to communicate from time to time how things are going. You can take from this, what you will.

They would tell you themselves that there are things that need fixing. But I'd rather have that then straight fucking silence for three months, like half the games on f95zone!

I don't care about what you think of what you worked on, you're as biased and unreliable of a source as humanly possible in this situation.
And you aren't yourself unbiased?

The only thing I've been hearing from you since August has been piss and vinegar.

I guess in this case, I don't care what you think either.

Certainly, there are things that need fixing in the game, but pretty much your entire arguement has been based pretty much solely on your own biased opinion. You don't like the game, and that's fine. But if you are going to make a comment about how the game is boring, have a point, or better yet, be on point. You've done neither nor been both.

You've castigated the writing, where there is nothing much there that can be faulted, and in doing so, have made yourself appear rather like an idiot. You've also briefly made it seem that you are being critical of their updating schedule or their communication... another mistake (As far as I am concerned), because Seeds of Chaos has been rock-solid on that front also.

Seriously, If I was ever to attack Seeds of Chaos (Which I have already done before, in a subtle manner), I would do so at it's weak points. And there are quite a few of those, and the Dev team already know this, and are already trying to solve many of these issues. Attacking them for their writing... that's piss-poor effort!

I have been a patron of this game for a while now. There are some things that get to me like how long it has taken them to get Rastadel done. But you have to take into account the variations of every scene they put in. They haven't added a single scene for X'Zaratl in a year! I've been wanting Rowan to fuck her pussy while she fucks Alexia forever. But even still, the content they do add is good quality. The Arzyl stuff is fun. The Cliohna events are leading somewhere quite good. My Rowan has been resisting her everytime. And slowly I can tell she is becoming interested in Rowan, maybe that will lead to a relationship on an equal basis with the sorceress. There was even a Jezera and Rowan scene, though unfortunately that was a femdom scene. Look there are things that are going to be done that aren't going to be tailored to you exactly. But there are things in there for the people that play and support the dev team. I can understand that you are disappointed. I am too sometimes, but not with the writing. And can someone give Sexinati some more Greyhide content, or at least a Andras transformation scene where the red demon can be turned into a much more pleasing form;).

But not before spitfire335 get's their X'Zaratl content! (y)

And yeah, I feel the same way sometimes about Rastedel myself.
Cheers mate. It's true that they are intending on making Rastedel the end of the first act but progress does seem quite slow admittedly. Still, I can't wait for my Rowan to break out of this hero role and begin playing more as a villain. His corruption is high and I take every dominant choice I can get so it will be a sweet payoff once he can turn his gaze to the castle's inhabitants with a domineering eye. On the other hand, accounting for all the different variables must be a nightmare for the dev team. Just like I like to play a dominant Rowan, some may play a submissive one, or one who has a chaste marriage with Alexia, or delane, or Greyhide, etc. Quality has never been a problem for SoC in my eyes. And the way I see it, it will never be. No worries mate, I think that Arioch himself said that they are in the finishing stretch for Rastadel so hopefully we can move past it and get to enslaving some drow to serve us.
