It is strange that of all the fetishes, "Infidelity Adjacent" fetishes are the ones that people seem most mad on the internet about. To be fair to your point, the degree with which the twins cause suffering, cruelty, and devastation does make me worry about how the conclusion to such a story could be satisfying.

Furthermore, I think you're confusing stupidity with courage. Trying to challenge the Twins physically would be extremely stupid, even if he could take them he couldn't take all their minions. Also, they have his wife and thus he has even more reason to not throw his life away. Rowan just isn't the kind of hero who does this, he's not a Hercules (or Guts) who can just scythe through people with no problem. He relies on cunning and guile, which is why when we get an opportunity to betray them it will involve that.

Ultimately if you want a power fantasy where the hero immediately kicks the asses of the people who wrong him Seeds of Chaos isn't the game for you. Which is quite good, what we have is far more unique than that kind of narrative.

They have his wife and he'd get squashed in a head to head confrontation. That's the hold they have he can't get Alexia off them without him or her been killed or go get help without her been killed, once the amulet went on he can't even attempt it. He is not Goku a power up isn't falling from the sky that'll let him suddenly smash them so he has to work against them in other ways. Rowan isn't in charge but he isn't submissive, coward or a cuck unless you make him so.

The most recent update the changes in the opening made him more aggressive towards them and fighting them doing well, that's not something a change a game intent on making the MC a cowardly sissified cuck does this late on.

The seeming wilful density of the people you're replying to is starting to feel like thread derailment to me.

As has been said, one can avoid every single sexscene including the twins and Rowan being bossed around and threatened to do their bidding does not in any way constitute 'NTR'.

A360, one could also mention how Rowan can help Heleyna, how he tries turn one of the maids to spy on the twins (very unsuccessfully), random events around the castle where for example you can divert supplies to dangerous routes so they are lost (could perhaps do with some more direct reflection ingame), the many many random events on the travel map where we can be good people.
Rowan is only a spineless coward if played as such.

At some point it sounds essentially like complaining that this isn't a completely different game, goodhearted vanilla romance or something, which is more than a little disingenuous and whiny.

It's been 5 years, yo. That it's been 5 days in-game is a technicality. If that's how it worked then no arc would ever overstay its welcome, and Goku would still be screaming on Namek.

As for Rowan, i'm not really confusing anything. He's a unheroic wimp, both in terms of skills and will, by design. The story literally hinges on it, hence my joke about Guts. Rowan's been useless for too long for me to believe any revenge of his will feel satisfying, especially since i assume the writers will have him bend over and eat shit for another few years yet.
