I remember at one point there was a futa Alexia scene, which I turned down since I'm not really into futa x male
Has that been expanded any at all? Is there a futa Alexia x female scene available?
Just curious, I haven't played this in probably years at this point

That would depend entirely on to what standard you would consider someone to be 'unbiased', because everyone comes with some level of bias in their thoughts and actions.
The writing is solid. It is descriptive, engaging, erotic, and at base level is grammatically solid. The cast have desires, motivations, goals, and personalities; in other words they are characters. You can quibble over the content, but if your complaint is content based rather than on the fundamentals, that's inherently a biased take. Is the writing perfect? No. I'm sure it could be improved, but it is by no stretch of the imagination 'bad' in any fundamental way.

The art is pretty fantastic. It's painterly presentation lends itself to the dark fantasy aesthetic very well. The proportions, perspective, and anatomy are all really solid. Their artists demonstrably know their craft, and have a strong grasp of the fundamentals. Again, is it perfect? No. But you really need to be up on your own game before you can start nit-picking their work; and not liking the content is not the same is critiquing it for quality of the work itself. So again, nobody can honestly look at the art and call it 'bad' in any fundamental sense.

The animation however is another subject, and most of it is very much lack-luster. It suffers from not nearly enough keyframes, resulting in a very rough and choppy presentation. Part of this is due in no small part to the fact that the art being used does not lend itself to being easily animated, and they just don't have either the time or the skill to make it work like it should. Again their art style is a major handicap here. Good animation is already hard, and their art only makes it harder.

Everyone has bias, and I don't expect people to entirely jettison their biases and become emotionless automatons. If I just wanted an uncritical take without any real feeling involved, I'd ask Chat-GPT to shit out some word salad. Being able to recognize bias, put it aside when needed, and otherwise engage with it when called for, is the hallmark of good critique. Much in the same way a good news reporter shouldn't just tell you the facts of a situation or story (e.g. the US implementing unprecedently high trade tariffs the world over), but should also be able to display their bias by giving commentary on why it is good or bad and for what reason (e.g. it has destroyed decades worth of soft power, is undermining US allies while bolstering hostile foreign powers, all in exchange for instigating a economic recession that benefits only the uber-wealthy who can weather the storm).

So, seeing as they removed a lot of content not too long ago, has any of that been added back, or are people going to praise the removal of it some more?

It has been answered multiple times in the thread, but let's reiterate. Only Patreon/Steam distributions have cuts due to the respective platforms' limitations on non-consensual/non-human/etc content; the distribution usually shared in the OP is taken from itch.io (cue the "non-patreon" label), which features the original uncut scenes.

What you're describing is basic creative writing though. Like entry-level, first year creative writing course stuff that they'd teach, some of it maybe even basic high school level education expectation of English language.

It's subjective to set the hurdle as passing that level, to mean that it therefore isn't bad. It's not entirely unreasonable for someone who reads the description of the game as a visual novel, or having reactive story-telling to expect more nuanced story-telling and characterisation than the basics.

It's not like I don't agree that SoC is better written than most of the erotic games out there. But once a developer clears the basics, people tend to start expecting more, because when the writing does show clear understanding of the fundamentals, they expect it to continue to be developed.

The same goes for the art, animation etc etc. There's a lot of sex games thrown together out there sure, so the bar is set low. But just because SoC clears that bar doesn't mean players should accept slow or unfocused development.

Okay. So your position is that you cannot enjoy a Harry Potter book or any other YA novel because it's not War & Peace?

Not every movie needs to be Citizen Kane...

Otherwise, you are proving my point. It's not that the game's content is bad per se, it just doesn't suit your personal subjective taste. You cannot say it is objectively bad, rather you are sitting here complaining that it isn't sophisticated enough for your personal taste. Ergo, my original point that you cannot unbiasedly call the game 'bad' still stands. I would define bad as being at the very least as 'less than competent', and even you basically admit that the game is at least competent.

I was curious if there's a big difference in content for the patreon and non patreon versions. For some reason I've never played this game partly due to the multiple endings tag. I usually avoid those types of games even if they are a really good game.

Considering this game hits every one of your signature's 'hated tags' except for being censored, you might want to keep skipping this one.

So is there a way to get an 'ultimate version'. I'd love to play this looks right up my alley but bummed that some scenes were pulled because of Patreon rules. Are those scenes available in a patch? Does the Subscribestar version have the material pulled from the Patreon build? Or maybe I can play the version prior to the Patreon changes (which were just a few months ago if I'm not mistaken) and then grab the latest build and continue. Not too concerned about a gallery and whatnot would just like to play the most complete version scene and story wise and wondering what's the best way to do that.

Harry Potter is very flawed and all, but it was completed in a reasonable timeframe. One year for the first four books, then 3 years for the largest one and two years for the final ones.

Book 1 97
Book 2 98
Book 3 99
Book 4 00
Book 5 03 (Pregnancy and Warner Bros)
Book 6 05
Book 7 07

Imagine Rowling pulling a Martin and simply not finishing SoIaF. We'd be a book 5 and waiting decades for book 6 and 7, which aren't worked on anymore and at best will be adopted by other writers once Martin dies.

Obviously you can't equalize books written by a single author with videogames done by a few people, but its very clear that SoC development is flawed. 9 Years and we are still finishing up part 1 of 3, with no indication what could happen in the next parts.

Played this long ago, but shelved it after realizing the game was different from my expectations. Any hints on if it will be completed anytime soon? Not really interested in the flavor of NTR that dominates this game, so I'm just curious how the couple gets back at the siblings in the end.
It's most likely gonna be doomed to end rushed when the dev realizes they've worked on this game for over a quarter of their real world life on top of having made enough money to not feel forced to finish it.

The devs clearly aren't interested in the things you and me are interested in by how the game is looking now. 9 years into development and I doubt anyone still playing this game gives a fuck about any of the content we'd be into.

The biggest crimes the devs are guilty of is including names like The witcher, Dark souls and Berserk as their inspirations. As of 2025 it's still just a grimdark NTR slave game with no indication of a satisfying playthrough for us that aren't into the slave sub cuck experience.

You'll have to wait for the 3rd game for that, this game is only Act 1 after all.

And that is a sad part honestly, this game had chance for proper Rowan's corruption but both demon siblings are lost cause in some way or another which allowed Rowan to fight back. That's a good thing too in its own right but Rowan himself will counter in later arc which will become a different game altogether.

Personally, feminization of Rowan would have been great for me, but if that is not on the cards because of weak siblings then I would prefer total dom path for him but that too will take another decade before coming into light because Andras NTR took way too much space that it should have.

No, I'm saying just because A Song of Ice and Fire is well-written doesn't mean readers can't complain about it taking 14+ years for The Winds of Winter.

I would define bad as being at the very least as 'less than competent'
I'm also saying that this is a subjective standard. For you, hitting basic English creative writing skills is the competency level within visual novels that deems them 'not bad'. You might as well be saying that it objectively jumped this bar, when you're the one that set that bar low enough for it to cross.

It's nothing to do with sophistication though. It's better than a lot of games, but people who say 'well, it's better than most games so that's good enough for me' are still being affected by bias. The games they've played that have let them down has effected them to the degree that they'll now accept something that does the basics as being 'not bad'. Other people haven't had that experience, but you're unfairly labelling the latter as subjective and the former as unbiased.

Multiple ending tags doesn't really apply, yet. The differences between patreon and non-patreon versions is that there's censored and uncensored versions because some non-human scenes had to be removed for patreon.
