How would the game be better without all the gameplay? You can unlock all sex scenes if you want only that

The problem is they built a sandbox VN which those other mechanics don't really enhance that type of game. If I recall, most of the extra stuff was added because they originally didn't want it to be a VN so they kept shoving more and more features to bloat the game. For example, if there's no combat and stats don't affect story routes, then why even have stats at all? Most of the extra stuff quickly becomes an annoyance rather than adding actual depth to the game, especially since you'll be forced restart the game every other update when your saves break.

People do not play VNs for DND style gameplay, and if we're going by story, I am not a fan of the servant approach either. I'm waiting for an actual Dominant styled story to the game before I invest too much into it.

That's one of my biggest gripes with this game. It takes too long and every update breaks saves so you gotta restart all over again. There's so much inertia I gotta overcome to start playing as none of my progress will matter when the next update hits.

While all true obviously, I think the most annoying thing to me is the inability to save and reload during the countless random events.
(Disclaimer: I haven't played for a long while, so I don't know if this is still implemented into game, as I remember it.)
Attemping such will not let you load a save in the event but before that, assentially making it impossibe to ever look at different options, because the events get loaded randomly and you will now get a completely different one than before. It's just unnecessary and grueling.
Give people the hardcore option of disabling the ability to reload scenes, if you really want to have it in the game, but don't force me to please !

That’s a bad plot twist. Rowan doesn’t show any signs of being a demon, either outwardly or spiritually. All his aspirations have always been to protect the world, and he fought in the previous war against the demon lord to protect people. He was one of the heroes blessed by the goddess. If he transforms from a human into a demon, that would be a good plot twist. But it would be a bad plot twist if he was born a demon. Too many questions would arise… Why doesn’t the goddess know about it? Why isn’t Rowan drawn to violence as a demon lord? Why are there no external signs on Rowan body? Why is no one still aware that Rowan is the true demon lord? Elves, dwarves, demons live for hundreds of years, but everyone lost sight of the demonic child, no one was aware?

Still better than the crap we go through as a servant. There is such a thing as dormancy, which I hope actually does come into play in one of the routes, because the servant route is irritating at best for me.

Has the story progressed at all after the fall of the city? It's been so long I forget the name.
Or has it been reworks and filling in of black pages?

As of 4.11 there's nothing after the fall, but apparently for 4.12 a couple events have been added.

Very much all types and sizes. While gay sex is by no means the focus of the game, it's been around for a while so there is a lot of it.

Yes. If you dont wanna fuck the manly men, you can just skip them. More interestingly, avoiding scenes where Rowan bottoms doesnt mean you cant do scenes where Rowan tops them, so really the game is your oyster. I have to admire their commitment to letting you dom even the Giant Fey Wolf guy when CERTAIN games (CoC2) are too lame for that.

Wouldn't that full time writer with experience be.. the lead dev who has worked on it for years? I feel like you could communicate downwards to newer writers how the characters act and what you expect from them rather than a timeskip that will remove any intricacies. Im not expecting Dan Abnett or the Horus Heresy level of writer collaboration, but a lead who is willing to work with and guide their writers seems like a better idea than a timeskip.

Edit: Im a dumbshit, you mean timeskip so the writers aren't literally building off previous events and storylines that werent ended (like the Fey quest line a while ago) a timeskip here means the characters are still influenced by Act 1, but its a new Chapter (wow like a new act) where the storyline is fresh and they can have their own idea of implementation.

To continue the Horus Heresy metaphor, the timeskip is like a new novel in the series with a new author, still linked to the previous story, whereas assigning them to write Act 1 events BEFORE THE timeskip would be like hiring a new author to write The End and The Death Part 3 with no prior involvement in Part 1 and 2 lol.

I often compare the time skip to Mass Effect 2. Builds upon previous events, but puts us in a situation that doesn't require us to handle ALL of the variables. Some characters return, others get cameos.
