I mean, it does look the part, but the original game (so-called "Part 1") also had CG with somewhat nonsensical parts, back in 2021. Given that AI-gen of this kind of CG was simply not available then, I would more readily attribute that to the artist not knowing how bothering to draw anatomy properly.

I think it could be AI. Aside from the general art-style being reminiscent of a lot of AI-content, theres a few more clues:

The belt on the old lady in the fourth image: starts on one side, doesn't continue on the other and blends into her clothes
The beds in the fifth image: on the left, the mattress blends into the frame
The expression in the eighth image: that expression is basically textbook ai-porn, see that all the time in ads
The bush in the 12th image: those flowers seem nonsensical

Now, I concede that this is conjecture. Its entirely possible I am wrong, that the artist's style has unfortunately become the template for AI. What I point out is often backgrounds, so it might just be a rougher approach to spend more time on the actual characters. Likely, its not all AI, but rather a blend, something liked edited AI. Especially since the characters look good and are, at least from the previews, free from typical imperfections caused by AI.

The artist is CURRENTLY doing mostly AI. As someone who was following this game early when it came out, the artist actually drew most of the scenes by hand digitally until maybe few patches ago where it was mostly AI (I would say maybe the first half of part 1 is artist own work, then it became AI slop afterwards). It's a shame because his more recent CG are souless and lifeless compared to his earlier works/CGs. Also as someone keeping with a lot AI cartoon models, this artist style is similar but not based on many current popular models. I'm fairly certain this artist just trained their own model based on their own drawings, and is using that model for speeding up his game dev now (this game dev have very long updates up until he started using AI). Also the artist dev tried to deflect saying the latest patches are not AI where he showed a 'drawing speedrun' video which was disproved by other digital artists, where he 'tried to draw' one of the characters by scratch but he traced a generated model and modified some parts using similar brush/colour techniques. The guy is a capable artist but is shortcutting his game and probably the most important part of the game (the scenes). I was a fan of this game early on but not much anymore coz of the dev if he continues to be dishonest like this.

I did not notice a sharp drop in image quality, and if the AI helps the author, then instead of destructive criticism, it is better to help him with advice on improving AI drawing training, which impressed current fans of the game and attracted new ones!!!
