Here are my updated scripts for version 0.5. Enjoy!

This looks like a lot of great work.

I hope you wouldn't mind a little note though. I'd advise to avoid editing too much. As I often saw before, editing for "better English" might lose some of the original raw energy.

E.g., I like this:
"As I promised Lana, I helped Tara go pick up the drinks for the party."

better than this:
"As promised, you agreed to help Tara pick up the alcohol for the party."

I promised, I helped. Not "you agreed".
I mean:
1. Why "agreed"? "Agreed" was before, now it's actually "helped".
2. And not "you" (who is that "you" there? It's me, the MC, talking to myself, not someone else telling me my story).

Or perhaps,
"As I promised Lana, I went with Tara to pick up the booze for the party."

Thanks and I appreciate the feedback. I believe one line above I changed to a narrator style rather than a thought. I suppose I could have added "Narrator" for clarity. Since the dev left it unnamed my assumption is that was what he/she also intended.

I admit that I sometimes do take liberties when editing text as I do this as a hobby. But I must stress, when I am working with a developer directly this is all explained in advance and I ask the dev to come back to me if they are unhappy with something I did. As I am not working with this developer I am less concerned with the artistic freedoms I take.

Nice. I know, people are different, for some it doesn't matter, but I'm one of those who don't like Narrator, especially when they say "you".

Like in another game I recall playing recently. Imagine, I read, "You feel ...this/that".
For God's sake, man, show me a picture! Give me a phrase, perhaps of inner monologue!
Then I'll realize what's going on and how MC is taking that.
But don't tell me what I feel playing the game!

Not mentioning that guys using narration tend to overdo it.
So if you are interested in reactions of people like me:
*thinking* is alright,

narration only as little as possible, and preferably only talking about events or facts, not about me... Especially not about what I'm currently thinking or feeling, that's just a big No. And speaking about me (MC), use "I" (not "you", which hurts the immersion).

I hear you and appreciate the feedback. The renders I refer to had no character name, yet other renders where the MC is "thinking" did have the MC's name. So I changed this to a Narrator, which I personally like. It could simply have been an oversight by the dev, to be honest. Devs use italics to highlight "thinking" while others use parenthesis. The use of italics can be confusing, depending on the font used, so I prefer parenthesis simply for clarity. Even though I find it a bit unsightly.

There's no reason really to ship 4 MB (grainy) PNGs. You can compress easily down to 15 to 10% original size and have results that are pretty much indistinguishable from the original (AVIF). I suspect (HQ) AVIF will look better (and still be smaller) than those JPGs as well. Just a tip.
(Note that I prefer AVIF over WebP that everyone seems to use. Even with a WebP of 100% quality you can often spot issues. E.g. a certain image I tested here (Lana in purple dress), I noticed a color/hue shift in her dress (loss of vibrance). It's also good at washing out details/definition.)
