Why would that have anything to do with swapping from version numbers? That's one of the main reasons why software uses version numbers, actually. As for swapping because it's a scam, I mean, there are a lot of ways to be malicious with version numbers too.

Nah, I agree with you there, I'm just pointing out that it's not really evidence of anything in itself. Though I do agree the context of "episodes" can be malicious, as most people expect them to be meaningful.

You don't watch an episode of a new show or comic and expect an uncolored, rough, pre-production draft of 1/10th of it lol. My point was that version numbers are typically free from concerns regarding language and/or culture which is one reason they're used to begin with.

Some always online drm/denuvo type software, but done by him, which was why there are rumours of the game going from megabytes to over 100 gigabytes like its some modern call of duty release and not some scratch coded renpy VN.

I can't complain, I never gave him a dime, but everyone who is supporting him on Patreon should know where his time is actually spent.

Thing is, I would have given him money... for a complete game. I do patreon subs from time to time, mostly for the devs/artists not their work, and only if the seem like they respect my money and support. Once they slow down and call hiatus or pause work, the best ones simply tell you and I cut the tap, no hard feelings no disrespect.

I get it. Being a creative is rough. But finally finding success then disrespecting your most ardent fans out of monetary greed is a special kind of heartless.

But a lot of us have reason to be wary because that's sadly more common than we'd like, and devs are allergic to demo and finishing games. So we pirate, but every single game I've ever liked I eventually bought. Point in case, I bought Spirit Valley just a day ago.

He needs to realize that true pirates will never give him a dime, they will just go elsewhere or wait until it's cracked. Everyone else will use it as a demo and then just buy the game once it's finish and fully available. Being crazy like this helps no one but hurts the people who are paying him the most.

I think it was sarcasm due to the filesize supposedly jumping in size due to the supposed drm. Remember, it's just a bunch of images lol.

He's not saying that the next update will be 100gb, just that it could be 100gb when he's finished with the game. This is a post from his patreon with a poll asking people if he should cut the pregnant variants of animations (next update will have preg content i guess?) to save space. People voted against it, so they stay.

Honestly I just want to see some new content, new characters, new scenes, new missions. Anything at this point.
Still can't see why this 2 year overhaul was necessary at all, I loved the OG visual novel style and art. I'm not the dev, so I can't say for certain, butit feels like he had a very overcomplicated, maybe even wasted 2 years of work. The update will tell.
