Well, I don't dislike the visuals. But yeah, there are mismatches in the style of things in this desert environment. There is some voicing but it actually makes the game worse. And the writing is horrid. Starting dozing off after about 10 minutes.

But then I see the main character's baby face, and I instantly lose interest..

You have to adjust it. Mine did the same thing which made it difficult to change it to my narrative resolution (couldn't see the buttons to change it). Once I changed it, everything worked like normal. Think this is the resolution used by the Dev and it just starts at that resolution by default.

It seems that in order to combat piracy, the developer is leaking a buggy build of the game onto the internet. The steam version of the game works fine, there is another version online that works well.
