Do I need to download anything else for the VR version? I have Meta Quest 3, so should I download this on my Quest? Or do I need to play via Virtual Desktop on my Meta?

its pc vr so you'll need to use quest link/virtual desktop to play it.

I tried this last week for first time (in vr too) and I found the controls a bit clunky to deal with and the pov mode isn't great. I found the players head overlapping my view at times or the angle being difficult to see anything for certain poses. Hopefully these'll get improved in future though.

I did try the complete save that was shared in this thread but I was confused why so many positons were missing the 3-4 levels of intensity, compared to playing a new save where the same positions have the variations available.

Playing on SSD
Using Quest 3 with the VR version
Lowered resolution and framerate to minimum
Deactivated antivirus
I'm still getting -5% -10% headroom. The performance in the VR version is horrible.
It's funny how I a can run Alyx smoothly and this game is giving me problems :HideThePain:

Update: Well, I tested the desktop version at max setting with no issues. Definetively is something with the VR version.
Maybe it requires A LOT of CPU? Mine is not the best, but I think it's still good enough

Update2: Okay, solved the issue. It was Air Link. Bought Virtual Desktop and now I can run it on max settings with no issues. I didn't change anything else
If someone has similar problems this could be your issue.

There can be many reasons for bad performance, sometimes its because of higher render resolution, sometimes it is Asynchronous Spacewarp (ASW) causing issues which can be disabled. Depending on a game I use either Steam Link on quest or Air Link. Air link for me usually works best but it could be the case that I use AMD GPU.

Nice thing about Steam Link is that it allows easily to change render resolution in VR so it can be used to get a sweetspot for GPU if you are GPU limited or for getting much better visual quality or anti aliasing for not very demanding games. For me usually 150% render resolution is more than enough.

Will depend on who you ask. To me it is. It helped me solve the issue I had with this game.
Also, I like more the interface, it's more customizable.
I like that I can change bitrate, resolution and other graphic settings in the same app.
You can use hand tracking in it.
Finally, I started to have problems with the Meta Quest Link. Almost every time I open it, it gets stuck in loading and I can't connect to my PC while it is like this. I don't have that problem with Virtual Desktop.

TLDR: Yes, it's more stable, more customizable and easier to use.

It is not the first time things break due to updates on Quest and I hate Meta still forces updates on Quest even if you disable automatic updates in settings.
I had few issues like unable to find PC on QuestLink, video artifacts, crashes etc caused by just updates and I even had seen notification that there were few brick cases when quest become completely non functioning in Meta website itself when checking out what is new in the updates :KEK:.

So i used rookie sideloader to completely get rid of forced updates since I had enough of that Meta bullshit.

How can this game be downloaded on pc and played on meta quest 3
just download the VR game link in the first post of this thread. Then connect your headset to your pc using link or a link cable (or any of the 3rd party alternatives) and just launch the game from its folder (no installing needed). It will launch the game in VR for you (I can't remember if it needs steam vr or not but if you have steam installed, it'll automatically launch steam vr for you).

This game has no body customization, few positions, and is very empty. It feels like a beta.
Still, I liked the good performance.
