I thought the same when i first started playing tbh - but then i looked back, and the first is similar.

The blunt truth is he sacrifices some visual fidelity via denoising for faster rendering which I think is a wise decision. If you look at the quantity put out and the way the story/gameplay is put first and foremost instead of of oohing and aahing over some nice pictures without much else (COUGH OSHEN), this is definitely the way to do it.

The only difference that I saw, was that models got butts&busts enlargements. A bit too much to my taste, but not really "graphics decline".
