You don't have to. When you click new game, there is an option to just start from the newest update (every other quest is complete)

You don't have too, there is an option to start right from the new update. You loose all skill upgrades which is annoying but they are not really needed.

there is a bug for using old saves, use the console and type:

$ belEvents = 1

Tried this and I'm getting a syntax error, also says RENPY script disabled at the top, not sure if that's what I want or not
